OMG - Avon has started showing their Christmas commercials. Seems like Christmas commercials start earlier and earlier each year. At least let us get through Halloween......sheesh!

QuiltnNan 10-16-2011 08:11 AM

i agree.

bluteddi 10-16-2011 08:13 AM

Christmas decorations and accesssories have been in the stores here since JULY!!! Hello ppl........ lets get holidays BACK in to the time frame in which they belong...

athomenow 10-16-2011 08:13 AM

What about the Christmas decorations in the store before Sept was over? I am so sick of Christmas before it gets here that it's so hard to enjoy. I want the seasons back the way they used to be. Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and then give us Christmas!!! That's my rant for the day! LOL

Carron 10-16-2011 08:25 AM

Around here the ice cream trucks that crusie the neighborhoods have already begun playing Christmas tones.
How those people who drive can listen to those same songs hour after hour after hour is beyond me.

nana20010 10-16-2011 08:39 AM

I just saw that commercial yesterday and thought the same thing! I don't even want to admit that it is halfway through October already!

Pat

athomenow 10-16-2011 09:31 AM

Try working in a store that starts in Oct and goes till after Christmas and they only have two different cd's! I never thought I would ever want to kill Burl Ives but after two months of Have A Holly Jolly Christmas I wanted to go postal!!!

May in Jersey 10-16-2011 10:30 AM

They used to start after Halloween but getting earlier and earlier each year. Can't tell you how many Christmas catalogs, requests for donations, Christmas return address labels and 2012 calendars I've put into the recyling can lately.

Nanamoms 10-16-2011 11:20 AM

I was in a couple of stores yesteday and Christmas decorations were EVERYWHERE. I couldn't even look at them without getting stressed. I want Christmas to start after Thanksgiving!!

Murphy 10-16-2011 11:34 AM

Not me. I would do Christmas every day of the year as well as the other holidays (smile).

twixbar 10-16-2011 11:37 AM

Totally agree.

sewgull 10-16-2011 11:38 AM

Passed a house earlier this afternoon, they already had snowflake lights on. Several months to early for me.

seahorsesanna 10-16-2011 01:43 PM

At the convenience store where I work, Christmas music goes on the day after Halloween. Did you all realize there are at least 13 different versions of "Twelve Days of Christmas" & Miss Piggy sings one of them. I do not like that song, but Miss Piggy was the absolute worst  The music was on a 24 hr. loop, so everday at 3:22, we got to hear Miss Piggy.

SherriB 10-16-2011 02:28 PM

My DGD (she is 6) even asked why were Christmas things up before Halloween? I don't want to decorate after seeing it in stores for months ahead of time. I wish retailers would wait til at least November.

3incollege 10-16-2011 08:33 PM

I work retail and it is so crazy. So many people are done gift shopping. The day after Christmas the decorations are downand the music on the radio are over.

mash43quilter 10-17-2011 04:48 AM

Ditto to that!!!!!

cherrio 10-17-2011 05:11 AM

so many stores here hauled out the Christmas decorations in SEPT this year.

countrycottage 10-17-2011 05:48 AM

Lots of folks must not agree, because the Christmas aisles at our Hobby Lobby have been very crowded ever since the Christmas things were put out. Personally, I love looking at them and making plans. To each his own I guess. I'm just a big Christmas person, and love to decorate.

We used to laugh at my Aunt Nora because she put her Christmas decorations up on Thanksgiving Day. Now I find myself doing the same thing.

pjaco 10-17-2011 05:53 AM

My Grandsons birthday was Saturday 10-15, didn't want to buy special b-day paper, so I wrapped it in Christmas wrap (in the closet). He didn't want to open it and saved it for last, saying it was for Christmas !! Didn't expect that!!

Stitchit123 10-17-2011 05:55 AM

-I've been buying halloween candy since Sept. that was next to Christmas chocolates-A friend works at Miejers and they are waiting til the H- candy is off the shelves to put out Valentines candy -Vday cards were out in Aug when I was getting my Pops birthday card-Are they now part of the return to school supply list??---I miss the "Good ol days" when each season was its own season-

maryb119 10-17-2011 05:55 AM

We go from Halloween to Christmas. Thanksgiving is the forgotten holiday.

Tudey 10-17-2011 05:57 AM

I saw that and I yelled at the TV! DH thinks I am nuts sometimes---he's right!

Rann 10-17-2011 06:08 AM

I must be older that I think. I remember when the Christmas decorations in the stores went up the day after Thanksgiving.

Mona Marie 10-17-2011 06:23 AM

Drug store here in town already has Christmas displays up.

Caswews 10-17-2011 06:42 AM

LOL I can understand the want to strangle someone when the music comes on. But I tell ya-the hold holiday music is the worst !!LOL

I too believe the holiday items should be up the day after Turkey day. But then I am also a black friday shopper !!LOL

nancy59 10-17-2011 07:11 AM

We worse part for me is Halloween, I will buy the tootsie rolls in the bag as soon as I see them, then I can't stop myself from eating them so I have to buy more

Joan 10-17-2011 07:17 AM

Don't tell, but I deliberately unplug Christmas decorations in August, September and October. It is very upsetting to me to see holiday lighted decorations and hear Christmas music so early......

By the time Christmas gets here, I'm sick of it and just want it to be over!!!!!!!

SandraQuilts 10-17-2011 09:02 AM

I saw that and thought the same thing.
I can't believe Oct. is half over!

Couple of weeks ago DH was shopping with me and he wanted to buy some Halloween candy. No way, they would be all eaten by him and me way before Halloween.

CAS49OR 10-17-2011 10:56 AM

I'm thinking maybe the early Christmas presentations could be helpful to people without much shopping in their budget. Maybe can see what they like and plan for it.

OK, so I'm trying to put a positive spin on it!

In any case.... I was listening to Christmas mucic on Pandora Sunday. I love Christmas music!

MadP 10-17-2011 11:34 AM

I guess I must be in the minority, I am thinking Christmas in Jan. Making gifts for the family members during the year. I do not work good under pressure.

Momsmurf 10-17-2011 12:29 PM

....which is why I love Nordstroms.

They will wait until Nov. 27th! I believe they always have done this...employees come in the day before and work to put up the decorations.
They have posted a notice in their windows to that effect!

I think we should think what Christmas is about. Celebrate it all year.
