It's so cool to see wildlife like that!!

Oklahoma Suzie 01-17-2010 06:04 AM

We had one flying above our house just last week, it was so cool to see.

Polly C 01-17-2010 08:22 AM

The bald eagles winter here & we see dozens of them flying and in trees along the Des Moines River. So amazing!! Wish everyone could see one in the wild.

Heidi 01-17-2010 09:10 AM

Very regal looking birds.

ToucanSam 01-17-2010 09:21 AM

They're so beautiful! I've seen a few when DH and I go fishing down in the bayous/swamps. Amazing to watch. :)

ljsunflower 01-17-2010 10:45 AM

I can see why you used a google pic! yours was soooo blurry! LOL but I could tell it was a bird. :)

amma 01-17-2010 01:05 PM

We have many in our area...they never cease to amaze me :D:D:D

Janstar 01-17-2010 01:15 PM

We see several way up in the trees next to the river every time we go to town. They are amazing!

tlrnhi 01-17-2010 03:13 PM

How beautiful!
Right now, I've been watching the bluebirds in daughters back yard going in and out of the bird house. There's about 10 of them and Im just amazed at how pretty they are.
I don't have any birds on Guam except pigeons, sparrows and egrets. :(

Boston1954 01-18-2010 04:05 PM

We saw one just about a week ago almost directly over our house. About 18 miles SW of Fort Smith, AR.

Pzazz 01-18-2010 04:30 PM

When I was commercial fishing, oh so many many moons ago!!! we could "call" the eagles and then toss a "throw away" fish off the back of the boat...they would swoop down and pick the fish out of the water. Very cool!!!

Lneal 01-18-2010 07:11 PM

Last summer, while out on the pontoon boat, we saw a bald eagle on a barren tree. I took pictures but nothing that looks as close as yours. How awesome to see a bald eagle!!

deedum 01-18-2010 07:28 PM

We have seen some in our area. We were surprised, and we took the binoculars and watched up close. It was amazing!

joeyoz 01-18-2010 07:31 PM

They are just so awesome to see in the wild for real. Not in a book or on TV. :-D :-D :-D

nativetexan 01-19-2010 07:45 AM

Oh, oh, oh. I would love to see one up close.
one day while driving at dusk in Boulder, CO three deer crossed the street right in front of my car. the light was red of course!

Andi 01-19-2010 08:47 AM

I live in southern British Columbia and I see them all the time because this is one of their territories and every now and then one will fly over my building. I live right on the Fraser River, so they are always close by, and what a glorious sight to see them in flight.

I lived on Barnston Island in the Fraser River from 1974-1976. Loved the isolation in the middle of the big city!! Not a lot of wildlife on the island, but the beavers on the mainland side of the river would build dams and flood the road where we got off the ferry.

We see a lot of bald eagles and golden eagles here in Eastern Montana and I am in awe every time I see one!

JCL in FL 01-19-2010 01:41 PM

Aren't they beautiful. We have quite a few in Florida and we saw one swoop down and grab a fish and take to the top of a pine tree .The picture is fantastic.

Waiting for the blessed event. I watch every year.

Melinda in Tulsa 01-19-2010 04:12 PM

I live right on the Arkansas River and we have 4 (2 pair) that live basically in my back pasture. They are really amazing to watch. They nest in the trees on the river bank.

mamajan 01-20-2010 02:45 PM

Eagles are really COOL!!! When I grew up up here there were none (dating myself?), only old nests, but now to most young people they are really common! I still want to stop the car and just watch them when I see them flying! Even my own kids just take them for granted!!!

JCL in FL 01-20-2010 05:30 PM

Isn't it wonderful that they are making such a comeback. People all over the US are seeing them now. I had never seen one growing up in IL but they are along the rivers there also.

My sister sent me these pix. I lived in Comox for several years. My boys and I often had picnics at this beach.

"Comox, Vancouver Island, B.C.

In January 2009, the weather was so cold that the bald eagles were cruising over our houses looking for

helpless cats to make a quick meal of.

Some kind souls decided to feed the eagles down at Goose Spit so they could survive the cold spell

without eating our pets.

Here's what happened! Take note, this is Vancouver Island ... NOT ALASKA !

One of the residents took these photos in front of his home. What a sight to see! "

mamajan 01-21-2010 05:57 AM

Amazing Photos!!! When visiting our family in La Crosse, WI we often see eagles sitting on the ice around small openings on the back-waters of the Mississippi & Black Rivers. There are maybe a dozen at each hole!

mochasue 01-21-2010 08:43 AM

Those are awesome photos!

Jingle 01-21-2010 07:25 PM

We have what is known as The Great River Road and people go there to watch the Eagles. It is a big deal to lots of people. I always seem to have something else to do. I know the area, can't think of the highway number.

Teddy 01-22-2010 03:53 PM

We have a bald eagle nest on the edge of a lake just down the street from my cottage. Many people stop to look or take pictures. The other day when I was walking I saw an eagle heading for the nest and watched as it landed. What a sight!

littlehud 01-22-2010 07:05 PM

Beautiful. We see them once in a while at a lake close to where we live. Beautiful birds.

kd124 01-26-2010 11:38 PM

Wow! Amazing pics. They go to Lake Coeur d' Alene (Idaho)every winter when the Kokanee spawn. I took my grandkids one year when I lived there which was cool, but none this close or even that many. I was kind of close to a golden eagle one year while pike fishing. It was in one of the pine trees on the beach eating a fish. It stayed there munching for a long, long time (hours). I watched for a while then went home for my camera which took me half hour to 45 minutes, and it was still there. I took a bunch of pics. We even went under the tree to get pics shooting up at it. I would post a couple, but they are packed away.
