They are lovely creatures, I would not want one close to me.

We gave him bread and corn?

Hope he learns "STAY" but not to close!!

We have 2 bears living on our property, always strolling through. They are so beautiful, but scarry.
The other day my hubbie forgot to shut the garage door, both the outside and the one into the house. I went to close the door and there was a bear in the garage having lunch on our garbage ( we have to keep the cans in the garage to keep them out). I don't know who was more surprised, him or me! |
I was at the end of our large garden when I took the last 2 , the first on was from my back porch. I did use the zoom on the camera.
He is only about 3 yrs old. |
It is dangerous to feed bears. They become lazy and depend on humans for food and the result can be tragic.
|
We have been putting out for the deer & squirrels for about 5 1/2 yrs. now, but the bear usually just pass through. They have been working on the mountain behind us, so they have most likely scared him out. He is about 3 yrs old.

WOW -- I would say that is a little too close for comfort.

There's been an increase here in black bear's coming into city limits. They're clearing land in the woods down the road from us for new housing developments and now the black bears are showing up in our backyard's and front lawns.
Our property backs on to the woods so we get all sorts of critters but bears is a first here. |
