I can't log in either. :(

The fonts are bigger and colors brighter which should make the pics even prettier.

patricej 11-22-2009 05:55 AM

use the password recovery feature at the login page. it works. when you get to the new board, reset the password to match the one you use here.

Bevanger 11-22-2009 06:00 AM

I LOVE IT! It sure is alot easier to read. I'm on the new board now

Bevanger 11-22-2009 06:02 AM

 double post

patricej 11-22-2009 06:03 AM

don't forget ... Admin said earlier that posts added to the new board are not going to show up here.

"play" on the new board to test it, but continue to use this board as usual until he announces the total transfer.

Bevanger 11-22-2009 06:08 AM

Am I wrong...... I'm not seeing a date on the new posts. I usually go by that in know whether I read or not

Up North 11-22-2009 06:11 AM

Bevanger 11-22-2009 06:11 AM

Bevanger 11-22-2009 06:24 AM

I guess so. It seems like many people are using this feature.

Butterfli19 11-22-2009 08:31 AM

Works great! Love the faster loading as well.

Thanks! :D

pocoellie 11-22-2009 08:41 AM

Personally, I hate change, but I did try to log in on the new system, and it says the the name and password were not a valid one.

On IE7, look in the bottom right hand corner. You should see a magnifying glass icon with a plus sign, followed by a number and percent sign. On this and other versions, and most browsers except AOL, using the keyboard shortcuts of Control + and Control - will adjust magnification if you are using a regular desktop keyboard.

pocoellie 11-22-2009 08:48 AM

I did the recovery, said now it was good, went back to your first post and tried again, said password wasn't valid again.

Did you receive the e-mail with the password?

Knot Sew 11-22-2009 09:21 AM

I always have trouble getting in if I log out
so I can't get in

pocoellie 11-22-2009 09:31 AM

Most of us have a password now that means something to us, so that we can remember it. I did get an email from you, with my "new" password. How are we supposed to remember this 5 million digit password, when it means nothing to us? Please let us keep whatever password we have. I did cut and paste the new password and was able to get on the new system, but I can't remember all these digits and don't want to have to cut and paste every time I get on board.

Knot Sew 11-22-2009 09:36 AM

I got in ...by changing my pass word..very easy to do was in the e-mail with the number letter password so i like the new site...good work... and remember u can't please alll the people all the time...i miss your picture..good looking dude

Up North 11-22-2009 09:46 AM

You can change your password back once you get in. I freaked when I saw that string of stuff!

Moonpi 11-22-2009 09:52 AM

On the new "User List" page, there is no arrow to get past the first page of listings, in order to browse through the listings.

Does your new model allow for spell-checking?

I noticed the chat room still goes off to the same address. Will there be any changes there?

I had entered my birthday in the profile section last night, but it didn't hold. Is that because the new board isn't live yet?

The toned down colors look a LOT better. You must realize by now that quilters are visual creatures.

CRH 11-22-2009 10:02 AM

The blue color is MUCH better, the pink strained my eyes badly. I was able to get in and change my password - worked well. The bookmark function is important to me. Will all our bookmarks transfer over to the new??

Katrine 11-22-2009 10:05 AM

Admin, I have changed the temporary password you gave me earlier today in my profile to that used here. I get the "your info has been updated message" - but when I input my user name the temporary password (I think because of the number of characters!) appears. I cannot get in after changing to my normal password. Done this 3 times.

It's just hash for moving the board. You can set any password you like.

Everyone's old passwords work just fine. So if you remember your password, then you can continue using it.

I'll pm you a temporary hash instead of password.

That's what i got. It wouldn't take my password, so when it e-mailed me i copied the hash letters and numbers and then I could get in.
Love the new clean look!!!

That's probably because I erased and re-uploaded the new database today. So your changes were erased. Everything was copied from the old database (the current one on this site).

Elisabrat 11-22-2009 10:26 AM

Looks pretty good didnt see anything wrong. With my bad eyes bigger is always good.

BlueChicken 11-22-2009 10:30 AM

Just one more moan about the password thing....

i DO remember my password, I've been away for the last four days and logged in from a friend's computer just fine, with my password. So when I couldn't get into the new site, it wasn't that I'd forgotten my password, it was that the new site wouldn't allow my password.

I've followed the link and got a new one loaded, but just wanted you to know that in case it's important.

patricej 11-22-2009 10:36 AM

i also had to use the "forgotten" password link. as soon as i got into the new board with that i went straight to my profile. i ignored the fact that my old password was still in my new profile and just "updated" my new profile with my old password. it now works just fine.

Admin 11-22-2009 10:38 AM

Just one more moan about the password thing....
That's strange. Could you please try logging in with the same password?

http://www2.quiltingboard.com/login.jsp

And if it doesn't work, please do a recovery:

http://www2.quiltingboard.com/recover_password.jsp

Once you get the e-mail, click on the link for auto-login (at the end of the e-mail) and then change the password to the correct one.

Please let me know what happens.

Shemjo 11-22-2009 10:55 AM

Change is always difficult for me, but I WILL adjust. Just as I learned how to do this board in the "old" format, I will adapt to the new format because I really like the board!

I would LOVE a spell check feature if available, because my fingers and brain are not always in sync.

Rhonda 11-22-2009 10:59 AM

I like the new board.

A couple of things for me-

I am not crazy about the signature being all the way to the right. As a quilter things need to be in balance and this feels and looks out of balance to me. Asymetrical instead of symmetrical. Just me probably.

I have a question. In pms is it possible to put a search? I have to hunt for old pms with addresses alot and it is hard to do. I save all my pms because I never know when I need to go back and look something up that someone said. Even if I could narrow it down to all the pms by one person it would help alot. If noone else would need this don't worry about it.

Admin 11-22-2009 11:03 AM

I tweaked some things, and the old passwords should be working now.

Please let me know if the old password doesn't work for you and you are sure that you remember it correctly.

Admin 11-22-2009 11:11 AM

What you can do is search in the browser once you open the listing of messages. Ctrl+F. And then search for the person's user name. That will get you to the place on the page with messages from that user.

But I have to say that I'm going to set a limit on pm's. Something around 200 in inbox and the same in the sent box. It's not happening now, but in the near future old messages are going to be automatically deleted.

On the new "User List" page, there is no arrow to get past the first page of listings, in order to browse through the listings.
There is a search function now, so you can find any user by typing a part of their name.
