Here is a screen shot of what I see

The size and color is correct in this screen shot...but I do not see the faded/misprinted words...Hmmm I will have to try this again....

amma 11-28-2009 04:06 PM

The easiest way to get a screen shot for me is this way

Go to the new board and pick a page to "take a pic of"
Hold down your Ctrl key and then hit Prnt Scr key. On my keyboard it is a little key above my delete and insert keys.
Open up Paint Program
Click on Edit and click paste
The screen shot should appear
If you hold down the left button on your mouse you can move the picture around in the box to get the portion of it that you want. Once you click on something, hit enter or anything else it remains where it is.
Click on Image and then attributes to change the size of the picture. My screen shot was adjusted to 6 X 6 or 7 X7 (Height and Width adjustments)

Click "SAVE AS" and save as a jpeg in the drop down. Then you can attatch it to a reply like any picture.

You can take a screen shot of anything appearing on your monitor

That's OK. Because the file is larger than 600 pixels in width, the board resized it for the post. But I can see everything in the original file.

Thanks.

amma 11-28-2009 04:13 PM

Hmm same thing... My resolution is 1024 X 768 but I only have 32 bit color...I wonder if that is why?

LOL we posted at the same time...thanks for letting me know why! I had never had a problem with this before.

mommaB 11-28-2009 08:20 PM

OK, my email has changed and I've forgotten my password..so now what do I do?? I can't change my email w/o password (I thought I did and when I go back to my profile it has the correct one, but password never is sent to it unless there is a lengthy delay?)and can't get password emailed to old address!!! help!!!!

Melinda in Tulsa 11-28-2009 09:05 PM

I don't like it at all. Too much glare, font is awful. I have mature eyes and to me, this is a downgrade. I have really enjoyed this forum for the year I've been reading it. I can READ the old forum. The new one is way to hard on my eyes. I hate to think I'm going to have to find another forum.

Barb M 11-28-2009 09:32 PM

All the glare is gone for me now, looks much better. Been looking around over there, and even my bookmarks are there, good deal :)

shaverg 11-28-2009 10:20 PM

I think the look was an improvement from the beginning and it looks find now. I don't know if you will ever please everyone.

I am sure we all appreciate you trying.

Thank You.

Melinda in Tulsa 11-29-2009 07:08 AM

Well, we were asked to look and critique. I gave my personal opinion. *I* have a hard time reading it and like the old one better. I am entitled to my opinion too.

bearisgray 11-29-2009 07:36 AM

I just put both of them up side by side again.

I still like the message on a plain white background better than the colored/shaded one.

The larger type is tolerable. I can still read both of them without a problem, but for those with vision problems, it might be helpful.

And I still like more separation between the individual postings. They seem to run together with just that thin line between them.

I think the reply and quote reply buttons are overly large.

patricej 11-29-2009 07:45 AM

i doubt she was criticizing your opinion, Melinda. i suspect she was simply offering encouraging words to Admin. he's working very hard on this project.

shaverg 11-29-2009 08:30 AM

Thanks PatriceJ, that is exactly what I was doing. Did not mean to hurt anyones feelings, sorry Melinda if you took it that way. There are just so many of us out here, I admire that he is trying to get it right for all of us.

bearisgray 11-29-2009 12:54 PM

I just realized that the "old" version does have a tiny bit of color in the background. It is so subtle that it's taken me until now to notice it.

Olivia's Grammy 11-29-2009 02:12 PM

I do like the old one better, but I would get used to new one. After I got used to this board.

azam 11-29-2009 11:38 PM

Love the new look and the larger font!!! :-)

I think change anytime is a difficult thing:)There is security in the way things usually always are...:)I'm on this morning and couldn't post till it was done...I assume it is done and have to say...what great colors to see in the morning!! I'd say it is just the tip of greater things to come:)Great job!! Color always makes changing easier:)Skeat

Skeat 11-30-2009 03:48 AM

PS....I had to smile to see I am labeled 'a reg here'....:)LOL At least it isn't a gambling establishment or something:)

Admin 11-30-2009 03:49 AM

Yep. It's been switched. Please let me know if you encounter any errors.

tlrnhi 11-30-2009 03:53 AM

Thanks Admin!
It looks good!
I especially like that the PMs have pages and aren't spread out on one HUGE page. Makes it easier for me to delete

marsye 11-30-2009 03:56 AM

I don't like change BUT we'll get used to it in a day or so. :-)

Skeat 11-30-2009 03:57 AM

Good job!! Thumbs up here!! And, no problems here:)

Agreed - change is difficult but we will survive. I do love the bigger font. Just remember the longer we use this the better we will like it.

STAR 11-30-2009 04:33 AM

What a surprise to open up today and see that it is all changed!! I like the bigger fon't but the white background will take some getting used to. and the thin lines in between posts throw me off a little, but I am sure I will get used to it.

Funny - the ad at the bottom of my page said:

"Microsoft - the platform you know"

Quilt Mom 11-30-2009 04:46 AM

Wow! Wonderful job, Admin!
You have accommodated so many of our comments. Thanks for all the work you are doing.

What I have seen so far of the new board is great.

bearisgray 11-30-2009 04:59 AM

I like the quotes in the smaller type.

Gee, the type is small while typing in the reply box. After getting (almost) used to the larger type - this type is miniscule. Can/will it be made larger?

When does "a new user" become "a board regular"?

I think the targeting is off. I guess it will take Google a bit to scan the new pages and match the ads.

Hmm, it's a standard text box. But I'll see about increasing the fonts there.

Up North 11-30-2009 05:04 AM

I never log off and just now I had to do password recovery again and change it back. Is this happening to everyone?

Nope. It should log you in automatically. But there might be some migration problems. Please let me know if you experience similar problems after having been logged in with the new board.

kwhite 11-30-2009 06:41 AM

The only thing I am seeing off so far is the last thing I commented on is not at the top of the recent topics list after making the comment. Things are not in the order of the latests comment.

Admin 11-30-2009 07:18 AM

I'm locking this topic since the board is now running on the new software.
