I would call the store and speak to the manager first...Do you have your receipt? If it was less than 30 days old I would make them exchange it for a new one. I would not take no for an answer. If they objected I would return it and go to a different store for a different brand of TV.

I don't get it...everyone is shouting 'green green green...be green, live green'...we are made to use recycling boxes and all that...but these companies are allowed to sell us crap that last less than ten years before you need another.
I think we were waaaaaaay more green 20 years ago before we knew what green was, seriously...sheesh! Back then glass containers were reused until they broke, and not everything came in poisonous plastic... |

We called right away and they found a code (thru the wires or something) and said it needed a service call. It's being set up. My hubby has taken this on for action. I am still loving the fact that he can handle problems and it is not all up to me all the time! :) As most know, he is a recently retired Col in the Marine Corps and loves to handle things! I'm just there to make sure he stays nice. If I get upset, he really gets mad so I have learn to control it when around him. I have no doubt that it will be fixed but it will be painful to all :) We have receipts, numbers, and all. It's just that it was not 2 months old! I wish things were made to last better. I even find that my first sewing machine- a 99 dollar Kenmore from Sears (almost 40 years old)is a better work horse than my new Pfaff or any of the ones in between. It can handle everything but fancy! That's progress.

Good luck! My friend works with electronics and said some of the brands don't last worth a hoot and they can't even get parts. I hope yours has an easy fix.

I don't like it but if they make things to last a long time then they can't sell as many as they do. I've been told by a couple of repair persons some computers are made to only last a bit past their warranties. Bet it's the same with TVs, fridges, w&d, etc. I think the day of appliances lasting for 20 plus years is long gone and 'ain't' coming back. If we aren't buying new products then how many workers out of our country are no longer working. That said with TIC (tongue in cheek) which in itself is a stupid statement! ;-P

60 inch wow. They don't make things like they use to and that is in everything that is made now.
