AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our TV goes out like that once in a while (reason unknown) and if we unplug it from the outlet for about three minutes it will reset it's self. I don't know if that will work for you but you can try it.

We had a 13" tv that we bought in 1983, it died 3 yrs ago due to an electrical spike that happened when a squirrel chewed through the return line from the house to the pole. I think it would still be working if not for the pesky beastie. Anything in the house with a power supply was also affected.

Oh dear, that squirrel must have been really hungry!

A repair person is due maybe by the end of the week. It has slowed crafting down because we go to the den now and I have to move things around to craft. I can't be still too long so I need to sew during tv time :) It's just my way. The big tv is needed to be seen over the sewing tables and stacks of stuff I create while quilting! That's my story and I'm sticking to it :) Thanks everyone for being so kind. In the big scheme of things, a tv is minor-even a big one. :)

We bought a flat screen for the living room for our anniversary 2 years ago. Within 2 months, it had to be repaired. It has worked well ever since but still has episodes where the screen just goes black for a couple of seconds. Another flat screen (same Brand) smaller version for my sewing room and it has never given a moments trouble. I told hubby if anybody asked me if I liked that brand I would say YES and NO lol

Karyn, was it a Sharp by any chance?

I guess we have been fortunate. DH bought a 48 inch 5 years ago and we've had no trouble. It runs most of the time when we're home. I have tinnitus and have to have noise of some kind. I have a smaller one in the sewing room which also travels with us in the motorhome. Even with all the bouncing around, it's 3 years old and no problem.
I know all about those Marines! Mine is Navy, but the years since retirement have softened him a little. He still gets upset if anything bothers me, but otherwise he's becoming easier.

I know what you mean about watching how upset I get. Mine is getting better but it took a while. We had to talk about it so we are both on the same page. He also had to get use to people not jumping when he asked for something. I thought my girls and I had trained him (we always said we were his reality check) but years and years of Marine Corps, Naval Academy and Marine Military School in Tx were hard to change.

Flat screen uses more power then the box tvs. But the flat screen looks so much better off or on.


Forgot to say for the investment of the bigger flat screens, it's the one item you want the extended service plan for. DH's flat screen went out after three years and even though he griped when I bought the service plan, the tv was covered. He got a new one free because parts weren't made for his anymore.
