When I got home late Friday afternoon my yard was full of butterflies. Hope you enjoy. If anyone can tell me what kind of bush this is please do. It looks alot like honeysuckle but it is not. Thanks. I have tried to post these several times today and it does not work so maybe this time.

NCquilter 03-28-2011 12:28 PM

Nice pics! I'm not sure what kind of bush that is either.

pennijanine 03-28-2011 12:30 PM

Beautiful pics. Could it be Jasmine? Sweet smelling and pretty. And butterfly food as well.

sewingsuz 03-28-2011 05:26 PM

I think it is some kind of Jasmine. Beautiful pictures.

Sure looks like a Honeysuckle. The flowers tend to turn yellow after they have bloomed for a few days.

Yooper32 03-29-2011 05:01 AM

Looks like the wild honeysuckle we have here in WV.

vickimc 03-29-2011 05:18 AM

not jasmine. jasmine is bright yellow and a vine. also our state flower here in SC. I thought hunysuckel also, but it is a vine to. but the flowers look like it.

Thanks. I thought that it could be Jasmine but I don't think so because it stinks.

Thank you. No, photography has been a hobby for years. I finally had to give up my print film camera last year because I could no longer get the film printed around here. I had a manual Cannon A1 35mm camera with adjustable lenses. My new camera is a Cannon T1i. I am having a very hard time getting accustom to this one but I am pleased at how these pictures turned out. My avatar was taken with my old camera.

Mona Marie 03-29-2011 05:45 AM

I think honeysuckle

Does the bush stink? There is honeysuckle vine that grows wild in our pasture. It is not in bloom yet but when it does bloom is smells good. This bush does look like the wild honeysuckle leaves and flowers but it stinks. It stands about 12-15 feet.

Jeanne Egeland 03-29-2011 05:54 AM

Pictures would make a beautiful quilt. Nice job.

Mimito2 03-29-2011 06:16 AM

Looks like Honeysuckle to me. I have fence rows full of it. Lovely pics. I saw one fly thru the barnyard last weekend. Absolutely gorgeous and was very large for this time of year.

Zephyr 03-29-2011 06:30 AM

Not sure where you live. I'd want to see the whole bush but what I can see looks like my Tea Olive. Unfortureatly I can't smell the blossoms but my neighbor can smell them clear across the street! She says they smell very nice.

CarrieAnne 03-29-2011 07:01 AM

Beautiful!

rita222 03-29-2011 07:25 AM

I may be wrong but it could be a bush that is called"Butterfly bush" I have one in my back yard only it is red not white.

harrishs 03-29-2011 07:48 AM

What beautiful pic! Thanks

harrishs 03-29-2011 07:48 AM

What beautiful pic! Thanks

linhawk 03-29-2011 08:05 AM

Looking at the back end of the butterfly, I would say some kind of swallowtails on Honeysuckle.

dphelps 03-29-2011 08:13 AM

I say Jasmine. All the butterflies are so beautiful. I love to see butterflies.

charlotte37830 03-29-2011 08:13 AM

Honeysuckle would be my guess.

jenniferlrn 03-29-2011 08:51 AM

I love butterflies and nice pics. They are great. I wonder if the bush is a butterfly bush. I am not really sure. Just a guess.

Kathy T. 03-29-2011 08:51 AM
