I'm not offering an opinion either way, but I think that the way you check posts can influence how many "game" posts you see - I use the New Posts feature a LOT and it scans all forum threads from what I can tell, so that's why you/I get so many game threads, especially all at once. If you go into specific forums, you can pick and choose topics that interest you more easily. I may have this wrong - I'm pretty new here - but that seems to be how it works for me.

For the first question .... there is LOTS of non-quilting chit-chat mixed in through the threads, whether about quilting or not about. There are several specific forums dedicated to non-quilting. You shouldn't expect others to start threads about whatever those subjects are that you want to talk about. You too can do it, so long as they are within the allowable parameters of the QB.
