I bought mine for $11 (16oz) at the local health food store. I didn't know you could get them from Amazon, thanks for the info.

I started mixing two tablespoons of these in oatmeal and added some blackberries. MAN is it good! DH and I have been having that for breakfast for 6 days now. We've also been doing portion control and eliminating junk food and between meal snacks. I've lost 5 lbs and I'm feeling better--more energy, more alert. I researched them a little after reading this post and found out that there's absolutely no side effects so I went to a local health food store and bought two pounds of them. I'm going to a quilting retreat this Friday for a week and I'll be taking my seeds and oatmeal with me.

They are good in pancakes too.

Be careful if you have IBS. The inner portion of the seed is soluble fiber, which is great for IBS, but the outer hull is insoluble fiber, which can be irritating. I liked the chia so much I increased it by too much one day, and then forgot and ate a goodly portion of pureed beans as well (which likewise contain a lot of insoluble fiber) and woke up at 4:00 am with knifelike pains from the gas. I have had to drop back on fiber to give my system a chance to calm down, but I will gradually add the chia back in soon.

Heard Dr. Oz talking about it!
