I still use the clothes line. It is the "windy" season in the Texas Panhandle so I am waiting until the winds die some to really use mine. Today, April 10 we have 60+ MPH winds.

I have to admit to being guilty a few times of re-pegging the washing if it looked messy, obviously had too much time on my hands! I can remember from my childhood the neighbours gossiping about a certain neighbour whose whites were always a dinghy grey on the line, great pride was taken in your whites. My MIL still complains about her neighbour who leaves the pegs on the line lol.

I'm surprised some people never peg out, even with our iffy weather here in the UK, most people I know peg out when they can.

I still hang things sometimes. Nothing smells as good as a fresh made bed that the sheets were hung out to dry.

OMGosh....I remember those days TOO well!! I was the only girl so "mom's helper"....meaning I hung out a LOT of laundry. We had an outside line and a line in the hallway for those cold days....not alot of those in Texas. It's funny I still take each piece of laundry and "shake it good" before putting it in the dryer....something I was told to do before putting clothes in the basket to take out to the line. The thing I hated the most was WASP. We used wooden clothes pins and for some reason they attracted big fat red wasps!

A few years ago we were in Indiana on the back roads and seen
about 5 quilts on a clothesline thought at the time it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen :D

I still have a clothesline and use it all the time. Always have and always will. Can't imagine doing anything else.

I long for the first warmer days of Spring when I am able to go out and hang my laundry. My neighbors, at first, used to 'scoff' at me for taking the time to do this 'old fashioned chore' as they called it. Now both my rear and side neighbor's yards are sporting clotheslines!!
There's nothing better than climbing into bed on line dried sheets!

hehehehe I remember those ... especially the one about removing the pegs .... hehehehe
My mom would whack you one as she passes to get it herself ...
I still love the smell of sun-dried washing .... :)
Lovely memories ....

The only thing I remember about hanging the washing out is that someone always pinched it! I lost the whole lot when I put it out in Perth, lost my jeans in Sydney etc etc. Therefore, rather than stand 'shotgun' whilst the washing dries, it goes up in the bathroom!
