My sister & BIL are native born Texans but love to go to New York City. Have gone on their anniversary the last 2 years.

There is nothing as breathtaking as coming from the country, through the tunnels and seeing The Point in Pittsburgh! I love to be with people who have never had this experience before. It's glorious!

Ok, here outside of Buffalo, NY... it doesn't snow ALL the time.

For instance... there won't be snow in the forecast for, well, at least three more months!

(But we do get more than our share of clouds... and yes, there is such a thing as lake-effect rain, especially in the fall.)

I always feel like I've been reborn when coming through the tunnels. Almost like Pittsburgh is welcoming me back to civilization. And I'm always sad when I live the city to head home. Go back through those tunnels and it's instant country.

In Texas, we do not all have a horse and a six shooter at our side, though I have owned several of both.

California isn't all messed up actors and actresses, although you'd think so by the news. Oh, and we do have an actor playing the part of the governor (not too well either). Not everyone in CA is a left-leaning liberal or gay or a pothead. Not everyone lives next to a beach or has blonde hair or had plastic surgery either. There are a lot of just plain good people living in CA.

I grew up in WA state, and was asked as recently as 1982 by someone from "back East" whether we had paved roads and if the Indians were much of a problem, as they were coming to WA for a conference and were scared to pieces. I so wanted to mess with them! But, they were sincerely concerned, so I held myself back - but it wasn't easy!! :-)
