Seattle area is not as rainy as it seems. There are places where it rains more.

Georgia: We have a lot of decent schools, and some really good ones, too. Not everybody says "YA'LL" all the time. Like Alabama said, we're not all hicks and don't all have bad (Hollywood-type) accents. We don't all fly Confederate flags, don't all drive pickup trucks (in spite of the fact that they had lots of them in the 1996 Olympic Opening Ceremonies...most of us cringed!) and I haven't shot a gun since I was a kid, with my dad. We have a very international city in Atlanta, and the world's busiest airport. And contrary to the joke, if you go to heaven you do not necessarily have to go thru Atlanta!!!!!

Oh, and it is Massachusetts.....NOT Mass. It is a place not an event. Mass is something my husband might go to on a Sunday morning.

And we are not all cold, anti social, snobs! I was so surprised when I went to grad school and that's what people thought about MA people...ouch!!!

Nebraska isn't flat (soon to be my home!) Drive the back roads, get off the interstate and drive up into the sand hills, some of the most beautiful scenery. Drive the bluffs along the Missouri river and go down south of North Plate to the canyons. There is lots to see in Nebraska.

Iowa - I was asked what it was like to live without electricity. My reply "I don't know. I've never lived without electricity." My 90 year old mother has lived there her whole life and she has always had it.

Texas - The nicest people we have ever had the privilege of living with.

Hi, I am from Kentucky and we are not all "Hillbillies". We wear shoes, drive cars (and yes trucks), speak English, and go to college. Football and Basketball are our frenzy sports. We do have an accent, especially in eastern Kentucky. I find it comforting to hear my nephew speak. I live in Louisville and have been told we have an accent all our own. We have bluegrass (green but appears blue), fast horses, and beautiful women. It is a beautiful state and a great place to raise children. The kentucky Derby draws people from all over the world. I stay home!!!!

Also about Illinois - Chicago area mostly. I have travelled out of the country and when I say I am from near Chicago, they ask if I am carrying a gun. They think Al Capone is still roaming the streets.

South Dakota is Wonderful! About 4 years ago we took our first vacation to Orlando Florida. While there we got to visiting with some folks when they found out we were from SD they asked us how we survived being attacked by indians, and riding horses everywhere. When they found out we actually have running water, and are neighbors with many wonderful Native American Indians they were astonished. So I guess that would be my comment South Dakota is as updated as the next, and yes there are 4 Presidents faces carved on a mountain named Mount Rushmore, and Chief Crazy Horse being carved now. No, we don't have gun shoot outs, (well unless it's at Deadwoods July 4th celebration, some still ride horses ( I have 2), and there are many family ranches. South Dakota a wonderful place to live and visit.
