It's a worm, and was most likely attached to an email you got from someone who emailed you. Once you open the email you have let the worm out and IT emailed everyone in your address book.

You weren't hacked, it's a virus and it came from someone who emailed you. It's a script that is attached to email and once it's opened, it emails everyone from your address book. No one was in your computer.

i was wrong, it is a virus, it was on this mornings news again today...

I just don't get why people do things like that.

This thread has reminded me that I've been wanting to close my Facebook account for some time since I rarely go there.
Does anyone know where a "close account" button is on Facebook?
I never put much info there anyway and kept everything "locked" where only friends could see it. But still why isn't there a easy way to close the account? Or am I just not finding it?

This is why I cancelled my Facebook "account"...
Heard way too many of these stories in connection to Facebook site... :(
I am back to the "old fashioned" way of emailing my friends!

SIL had that happen. She finally opened up a new e-mail address and let us all know by e-mail from the new address. Don't forward your address book from the old acct. to the new one. Good luck.
(I'm going to go cancel my Facebook acct. too)

Sorry to hear that you are having this difficulty...It just isn't right that people get away with this stuff.....

*hugs* - I HATE computer problems. Do you have McAfee or something like that? Why don't people have better things to do that break into other peoples things.

That is what I figured out yesterday. My uncle is a computer geek. He said I had all the protection in place. But, this just happens if you visit sites or open emails. Crazy.
Thanks everyone.
