Take this job and shove it.I don't remember who sang it.It sure fit my mood before I retired.
|
country songs seem to me to have the best lyrics.

I love "Drop Kick Me Jesus" a friend told me about it back in the late '70's. My dad was a big football fan - when he died I wanted to play it at the service but my mom said no, a few months later when I did play it for her she was laughing and said my dad would have loved it. Bobby Bare has a few songs of a similar nature.

I see you're used to Champagne. but I'll buy you a beer. Conway Twitty's-- Tight Fitting Blue Jeans.
Lookin' for love in all the wrong places... |
This reminds me of the Garth Brooks' song,
"I've got friend in low places Where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases my blues away And I'll be ok I'm not big on social graces so I'll slip on down to the OASIS --- oh I've got friends in low places." I just remember singing along RATHER LOUDLY in the kitchen with my 16 year old using a hairbrush for a microphone, my 3 year old using an ice cream scoop as a microphone and I had a spatula in my hand. We would slur the words "whiskey" and "beer" so the little one did not understand...LOL TOO FUNNY!! |
John Denver - Get your tongue out of my mouth, cause I'm kissing you goodbye.

I have been listening to country music for years and there are so many.
