Crocodile Stitch Crocheted Pillow

2 Attachment(s)
This has been one of the crochet stitches on my bucket list and I finally learned how to make it! This pillow is for my daughter ... goes with the afghan I made for her. There's over 7 ounces of yard in this pillow. The instructions also called for the back to be crocheted in this stitch. After I finished the front, I was determined not to crochet it all over for the back! It's not difficult once you get the stitch down, but it is very time consuming and uses a lot of yarn. So I went to my stash and made a pillow cover for a pillow form I had in my stash!! Nothing like having stash!

Very pretty. I love the color - never heard of the stitch, but I really like what it makes.

I just saw the stitch demonstrated on a PBS show here. Your crocheting is beautiful and I really like using the fabric for the back. You matched the color perfectly!

So interesting to see the stitch on the show and then to see your pillow. It does take a lot of yarn but it is so special-looking!

Yes! I find a lot of goodies in "my stash", but too often I have to buy something so my stash just keeps growing!!!I like your pillow. I crochet too, but don't know this stitch. I can see it would use a ton of yarn......

Neat looking stitches, haven't heard of it before. It kind of reminds me of broomstick lace......
And your pillow is very pretty!!

That looks great with the quilt you showed previously!

That is just beautiful. I love the colors you have used. Your backing fabric looks like you chose it first. You made a beautiful piece of art there for one lucky daughter. I have heard of this stitch, but I don't recall having seen it made up before, or if I saw it, I didn't know the pattern. My dear Mother would have loved this stitch and may have even used it - I wouldn't know-she crocheted every day until her brain tumor prevented her from doing so. I will have to try it. Thanks for sharing.
