I wasn't exactly sure WHERE to put this, so it's here.
Short story....a member was in need of something, so since I had what she wanted, I thought it would be nice to send it to her, no strings attached. She insisted that she "repay" me somehow and told me she made little Christmas ornaments. I love homemade ornaments on my tree, so I conceded and said, ok, I'll trade you.
Today I receive a package and in the package are the CUTEST ornaments I have ever seen!
Take a look!

the best!!

tlrnhi 08-25-2009 02:43 AM

I'm still tickled and giggle over them.
Was telling a lady about them tonight and she says that I need to keep her away from them or she'll "steal" them from me.
I don't think so! I bite! lol She was only joking, but she said she had never heard of ornaments like this either.
Hubby says they are adorable too!

marsye 08-25-2009 03:03 AM

Cute! Love the elf!

QuiltMania 08-25-2009 03:23 AM

Those are really cute. Wish I had a pattern so I could make some for my tree.

Esqmommy 08-25-2009 05:33 AM

Well those are the cutest things ever!! I'd like to buy a set from whoever made them. If you are reading this, please please please PM me and let me know if you'd be willing to make a set to sell!!!!!!!!!!!

Terri - you lucky dog!!! Those will look so cute on your tree! See, what goes around comes around...What a nice surprise.

Esqmommy 08-25-2009 06:50 AM

I get to buy some - yes!!!!!!!!!! The artist has PM'd me that she can make me as many as I'd like. I'm ordering 4, so I can't wait. I know these are going to be for "my tree" and not a gift. Although...perhaps I should order another set as a gift. We'll see.

This could be a great little side business for you, Ms. Artist. I don't want to post your name as I don't know if you are public with making these...

anyway, just thought I'd brag that I get some too Ms. Terri!! He he

tlrnhi 08-25-2009 03:52 PM

WOOHOO!!!!
YIPPEE!!!
You won't be disappointed!
They are MUCH better in person! I just love them!!

too cute for words!!!
Will really dress up a tree.

tlrnhi 08-25-2009 09:49 PM

I think so too!
Will put them up high with my birds. Don't need a naughty little girl cat after them. :)

RedGarnet222 08-26-2009 08:08 AM

What an adorable set of ornaments! She did a terrific job on them.

Shemjo 08-26-2009 09:41 AM

Oh, she's not going near them!
They will be towards the top with my glass birds.
Good thing she has no claws.
She actually doesn't really know what a Christmas tree is.
We've done alot of traveling around Christmas and this year will be the 2d tree for her. (if we travel during the holidays, I don't decorate) She's 4 this year.

sandpat 08-27-2009 05:23 PM

Just messin with ya' Terri. I know you'll keep them safe. My cats all love the Christmas tree...they aren't too bad. Actually they love to curl up between the boxes on the tree skirt and go to sleep. They look so peaceful and sweet (they aren't) with the blinking lights above them.

I do have to be careful not to let that curling ribbon stay on any package tho...they'll eat it for sure! Don't know why they love that stuff so much.

tlrnhi 08-27-2009 05:36 PM

Oh, I know!
We have to "reinforce" bows and such on packages because they "fall off" for some reason. lol
Mine love to curl up under the tree and act all innocent too!
Have only had 1 cat in all our years climb a tree, but when he was done, he found a "comfy" place to lay on the branches. Was such a funny site. Wished I had a pic of it.

sewjoyce 08-28-2009 05:49 AM

Years ago I had a kitty who liked to climb the Christmas tree. She would knock the dang thing over and we spent a lot of time "redecorating" the tree. She knew she'd be in trouble if we caught her so the tree was always crashing in the middle of the night

reneebobby 08-28-2009 07:49 AM

I'll tell you what those are the darn cutest things I've seen in a long time when it comes to crocheting. She did a wonderful job, and I bet worth every penny she gets for them too.

quiltease 08-28-2009 01:08 PM

I confess, it's me. I made the ornaments. Poor Terri has been the middle man, notifying me when someone shows an interest in purchasing some, so I'm letting her off the hook. If anyone is interested in the ornaments please just PM me and I'll get right back to you. I make several different ornament people and I'll be glad to give you all the details.
To all of you who liked them, THANK YOU!!! As fellow artists you know how much compliments mean for the old self esteem.
Terri, I thank you for all your patience. What can I say, I made a new friend and I'm thrilled.
big hugs to you all,
bev. :D

Mousie 08-28-2009 02:29 PM

oh my gosh, Terri, the cuteness factor is awesome! :D

tlrnhi 08-28-2009 05:33 PM

Ok, Quiltease came out of the closet. lol
I hope you get many more orders for them.
They really are adorable and beyond what I could wrap my little brain around when thinking about them.
They are just way too cute and I think everyone should have a set!
So, ladies....PM her and order yours today! You won't regret it!

sharon b 08-28-2009 08:59 PM

They are absolutely adorable

kd124 08-29-2009 11:24 PM

Those are so cute. I especially the Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Sheila Elaine 09-02-2009 03:14 AM

Love the little Granny Glasses on Grandma. Those are too cute. Be sure to pack them & put them where you'll know where they are in 2010 (if that's the year you'll be coming back Stateside). I hate losing, even temporarily, the treasured pieces that the packers seem to hide. Put them in a distinctive wrapping & dare them to misplace them.

Have a great holiday season. Bet your tree goes up early this year.

tlrnhi 09-02-2009 03:57 AM

Everything I need to "hide" goes into the fabric boxes. I pack most of them.
I have a bottle of Saki from Vietnam that has a snake in it, a baby cobra. YES, A REAL ONE! I have to wrap that in bubble wrap, then into ziplock baggies it goes. Then again in bubble wrap. I put my fabric in a box, then in goes the wrapped bottle, then more fabric around it. I mark the box so I know which one it is in.
I also have some very old ornaments that are done the same way. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

...YES, A REAL ONE! What a great way to protect your stash! yikes!

He's a great conversation piece in my curio. People will look at what I have in there, I won't say anything, then you hear a giggle. I have this little porcelain Chinese guy who is a bit on the nekkid side looking upside down. It's really cute.
Then, you hear.....OH MY GOSH! IT'S A SNAKE! lol
