I haven't been on the scale but I feel like I have gained a ton. Sitting around a lot and eating candy and junk. We have also been to too many parties. I just came home from a pizza party. I brought some really yummy cupcakes that I ate and also sampled while I made them. I feel gross from all of the junk food. I did go to the gym today and worked out some. We are going to a New Years party where they will have a ton of food too.

I just posted the new thread for January. Head on over and sign up. http://www.quiltingboard.com/general...ml#post7417538. I can't believe it is already January. DOn't forget to send me your loss for December. I won't be winning ant FQ this month. Good luck everyone. The FQ theme for January is brights: for a bright new beginning.
I am looking for suggestions for Feb and March for FQ themes.

I thought this group was really quiet until I realized that I have not been getting notifications. I missed saying "Merry Christmas" to everyone. Oops!
My Christmas was nice. We did everything a day early since my DD had to work Christmas Day. On Christmas Day our pump stopped working. It wasn't too bad except for not being able to flush the toilet or wash my hands. I just don't feel clean with using only hand sanitizer. We were able to get someone out here on saturday to pull out the old pump and replace it so it was less than 24 hours without water. Luckily I had a partial case of water bottles out in the garage since the store was closed Christmas Day.
My eating has been pretty good. I realized you can gain weight without eating sweets if you overdo it with cheese and nuts. I think I have that under control now. We will be going to 2 parties for NYE and then driving to Iowa the next day to get together with our families. I always dread the 1000+ miles of driving but look forward to visiting with siblings.

Traffic on here has been very light this month. I have been terrible. I just had another piece of candy. Hope you have a good visit with family.

Happy and HEALTHY New Year to everyone here!

I went for a physical today, yuck. What a way to end the year. Had to get it done today due to insurance. Gotta have a mammo (or mommygram as doctor's spell check spit it out), blood work, shingles shot, ugh...Oh well, at least it is only once a year.

Have to have surgery on my right shoulder on 1/18. I am seriously right handed, so I don't know how this is going to impact my quilting. (My left hand is only there to hold my wedding ring and watch!) I have impingement syndrome (lots of arthritis that causes joint not to move freely) and a partial tear in my rotator cuff. Orthopedist is not 100% sure he will repair the tear, but he says to plan on it, so I am not unpleasantly surprised. Just the surgery for the arthritis is arthroscopic and I will able to sew, drive, basically everything a a couple of days. If rotator cuff is repaired, 6-8 weeks in a sling, no moving arm, no nothing. :( Want the lesser surgery, of course, but I want the pain from the tear to be gone. Oh well...I'll know later in the day of 1/18 what was done. Another scar? Add it to the road map on my body...just don't follow them...you can't get there from here.

Hope everyone has a quiet, safe New Year's Eve!

Can't wait to see who wins the black & white fabrics.

Whoo Hoo!!! 11.8 pounds....AWESOME!!!! Congrats, Pam.

Irishrose2 01-06-2016 09:29 PM

What a fantastic weight loss, Pam. Way to go! Makes my 5 pounds pretty pale in comparison, but I'll take it.

Anita, good wishes for a successful surgery. I've been dodging that bullet for 10 years. Have fun typing left handed so you can let us know how you're doing.
