I'm in again this month for sure! I lost double what I'd hoped to lose in November, and I had planned to take off the Christmas holidays with my kids (school-aged) and go wild, but now I think I am more motivated than ever to continue what I was doing! But we'll see what happens as Christmas gets closer and closer...

musicaljan 11-30-2013 08:30 AM

I had only planned to be vegetarian/peskatarian for a month - but it was easier than I thought so I am going to continue it. I am adding in some more exercising too. My nephew is getting married 1/4/14 so there is added incentive.

CindyA 11-30-2013 10:00 AM

I'm in again and Cindy has my FQ for this month. I had a very small loss this month, but enough to keep me motivated. I do feel better not overeating! I had a full plate for Thanksgiving, but didn't go back for seconds and had a small piece of two pies that I made. I haven't had any of the leftovers!

Here's to healthy choices for everyone today.

lauriejo 11-30-2013 10:59 AM

I am for December. I had a few health problems in November and my plank challenge got derailed. So for December I have invented my own plank/walking challenge. Being on the gluten free diet means most holiday party foods are off limits, so that helps with the willpower at the parties. I do have to be careful not to treat myself to make up for missing out.

Vanogay 11-30-2013 11:50 AM

I'm in for December. Sent in my skinny quarter already. Hopefully, I will be close to my goal by year's end. Did pretty good on Thursday. Had a good plate of food and a sliver of pie - I was cutting it, so was able to get that little bit for me. Gave me a bite without any of the 'excess'. We have had left overs, however. Made a turkey jambalya from one carcass and have another carcass in the freezer for later. Gave a good bit away to some friends, but there's leftovers left over!

meanmom 11-30-2013 04:13 PM

I'm in again. Thanksgiving eating has not been good.

SandyWh 11-30-2013 05:45 PM

I'm in again. I feel better on Paleo and will continue with it.

Teddybear Lady 11-30-2013 07:33 PM

I'm in for December. I've got to get my act together. You have my FQ for December. Here's hoping to do better this next time around.

irishrose 11-30-2013 08:10 PM

I forgot to sign up for Nov so I'm getting in early for December.

Teddybear Lady, hoping won't do it. You have to tell yourself "I AM losing weight', not 'I hope I will'. Your brain and body respond to the current 'I AM', not the future denoted in 'I will'. We ARE doing this together.

Pam H 11-30-2013 09:23 PM

I'm in for December. Thanks for the reminder, Cindy!
Batiks! Batiks! I've got to win the Batiks!

lauriejo 12-01-2013 04:05 AM

Well November was a gain, but it's over so on to better results. I am going to start walking again starting today.

littlebitoheaven 12-02-2013 05:33 AM

I would love to join you. Have been doing a kind of Paleo. Eliminating everything "white". This sounds like so much fun. Thank you.

QuilterMomma 12-02-2013 09:01 AM

I am in again and you have my skinny quarter.

countrymaid 12-02-2013 09:07 AM

I'm back in again. November was kinda crazy for me. I've started my cookie baking for Christmas. My men are happy and that makes things ok. I haven't baked in a while and am looking forward to some old family recipies again. I'm stilll down a bit and am watching my carbs. I love Christmas decorations and all that goes with it. Merry Merry everyone!!

createfourpaws 12-02-2013 07:59 PM

So many are wanting this months pot of batiks, I don't want anyone think I could be dishonest in any way shape or form I want this pot myself. So I am going to post my weight that is was on the first and again at the end of the month. I don't expect anyone else to post their weight. I want this to be above reproach.

On Dec 1st my weight was 198.6.

Just want to be able to be held accountable when I win...........I will take a picture of the ones that I already have and post a picture of the winning pot.

And no one has said anything ...... just planning for the best but expecting the worse to happen.

irishrose 12-02-2013 08:57 PM

The batiks would be a bonus, but what I really want is my weight to go down and my waistline to reappear. My December 1st weight?? 154 pounds.

I didn't get off to a great start. Eating was fair, but I had to cut my walk short. The warm day melted the top layer of ice/snow and the streets refroze into a skating rink. Lily (tall long legged dog) was slipping badly and Siberians tear ACLs too easily so we quit after 1/2 mile or so. Moira and I were fine - she's closer to the ground and I had on Yaktraxx.

Today is only the 2nd. We should have some more sign ups in the next few days. More batiks for the winner, LOL. I need to go choose one to send. While I could do more of the lime green I do have some linear quarters I can consider. I think there's a light blue and that's not my color. Hmm.

Welcome back, everyone and a welcome to littlebitofheaven.

I AM losing weight and becoming healthier!!!!!
Judy

Vanogay 12-03-2013 04:46 AM

My Dec 1st weight was 162. I wanted so badly to show a loss last month, but a small gain it was instead. Sob! Oh, well, on to bigger (ur, smaller) and better things - BATIKS!! Yeah. I'm going to give you a run for your money Cindy - and Gayle and Judy and all you other skinny ladies! I don't know what's happening with me, but I've been suffering from - allowing myself - whatever to sink into some depressions. They haven't lasted long, but I don't like feeling that way. Dislike myself, my hubby, my life - that sort. Something in the water? Gotta get beyond this...take care, eat healthy and drink lots (water, that is!)

musicaljan 12-03-2013 05:33 AM

Did the winner from November get announced?

I sat down last night - me and google - and made out my list of daily exercises, while I incorporated some monthly challenges. I can't wait!

I'm also doing something I normally don't do. I weighed myself on the first, and I'm going to (try to) not weigh again until the 31st. I like to weigh every morning. It has always helped me doing it that way. But for fun I'm going to (try to) wait.

And I'm finishing up a round robin block and starting on a quilt this week. Woot!

createfourpaws 12-03-2013 06:59 AM

No the winner has not been announced yet, I will announce tonight after work. I am waiting to see if any one else sends me a pm with their loss.

Jim's Gem 12-03-2013 10:04 AM

I'm in again. I have been doing so badly since June. I really need to quit gaining!!!!

Jim's Gem 12-03-2013 10:06 AM

Having a tough day. We will probably be taking my dog, Nali girl, in tomorrow. She is 15 1/2 and has decided to quit eating. She only got out of her bed a couple of times yesterday and so far today, I have not seen her up. This will be hard. She is the last of the three we had for a long time. I was really hoping that she would make it until our son got home from deployment. He is due home around the 12th. But unless she has a dramatic turn around today, she will not. I can't let her starve to death.

meanmom 12-03-2013 02:12 PM

Oh Gayle it is so hard to loose a pet. Saying a prayer for the poor furbaby. I have been the same weight for quite a while. I know what the problem is. No exercise and some poor food choices. I haven't gained either, but with no exercise my clothes don't fit as well. I need to get of my lazy butt and do something. Good luck to everyone. I love, love batiks. I had a hard time parting with the one I sent in. I have some batiks that I think aren't that pretty or my kind of colors but I still love them.

irishrose 12-03-2013 04:42 PM

Dog to vet week? Gayle, my heart goes out to you as you make the final decision. I took Lily to her vet today. She has a strange lump on her head and another tiny one starting on her neck. Moira (other dog) is worried and Moira is usually oblivious to such things. The vet did a needle aspiration and couldn't determine if it is malignant or not. He could operate or we can do a wait and watch. If Lily were his, he'd wait, so I bowed to his expertise and didn't do anything for now. Lily is a large dog and will be 9 on New Year's Day. Is this the beginning of senior dog issues? Lily a senior?? She was reared up like a pony while waiting to go out this morning. Her weight is up. Do senior female canines gain weight like senior female humans?

We had 4 inches of snow on top of the ice today so walking should be better tonight. There was some freezing rain mixed in so we'll see.

My youngest daughter and a grandson came over and brought my Christmas boxes in so I will burn some calories decorating tonight and tomorrow. :D

createfourpaws 12-03-2013 07:15 PM

The November winner is SandyWh with 13.2 lbs lost. Congrats on your loss.

SandyWh 12-03-2013 09:42 PM

I'm delighted! Still in this month even though can't win twice. I need to get this weight off. I'm having so much trouble with this arthritic knee, the less weight the better.

Gayle, I'm so sorry about Nali. It is very hard to lose a fur baby.

musicaljan 12-04-2013 06:00 AM

Wow - great going sandy! 13.2 lbs is great!

And sorry Gayle about your dog. Last month someone kicked our cat so hard we had to put him down. It was quite traumatic for me and my kids. 8( I rescued our cat snoopy and soon after our family experience a tragedy. snoopy was always a go-to when we were down. We miss him. 8'(

I did my monthly challenge exercises last night. I was pleasantly surprised with being able to do some of the exercises and pretty depressed with some others. But I figure I have to start somewhere. =D

I'm heading out for a morning walk. Have a great day.

I know how you feel about putting the baby down. We had to do that a couple of weeks ago. It was so hard. He was 15, just had his birthday in fact on the 22nd and we had to put him donw the 23rd. He was slow, then he lost control of his bowels so that was it. He could not stand to go and was so weak. Nothing they could do. we miss him so.

What you think of these for my Christmas table?

Aren't they just the cutest! the rick rack is from what I inherited from grandparents. It was priced at 14 cents and 19 cents. Two diffrent sizes, one just a tad larger. My dd says they should be part of the guest gift. I do not want to part with them. tell me ladies, need input her so I do not overdo, which I am so good at you know.
For the table gift for my guests, 10, I am making the muggy ruggy, snowball men, a snoball grinch, with a cup/mug, and some candy inside. Should I include the napkin as well or is overkill? Would appreciate input. I know, I can always make more napkins for myself, but I would have to go and buy fabric. Goodness me.

Jim's Gem 12-04-2013 11:49 AM

Nali died here at home, while I was petting and comforting her about 25 min before her appointment. She had been struggling to breathe and I heard a change in her and sat with her while she passed.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It will be hard. We have had dogs for over 25 years and now will be without one.

lauriejo 12-04-2013 01:07 PM

Gayle I'm so sorry to hear about Nali, but glad you were able to be there with her.

SandyWh 12-04-2013 02:01 PM

I'm so sorry Gayle.

Maggiemay 12-04-2013 03:11 PM

Ok, I'm in this month too. I've been hemming & hawing about whether I should participate or not because I know this month will be hard. Maybe this will help me be more accountable. I've participated in the past a few different times & I always read this thread to see what's going on & get some motivation from all of you. I hope I got in before the deadline!

irishrose 12-04-2013 06:12 PM

I'm so sorry, Gayle. It was good for her that she was home. Miss Nali left paw prints on your heart. RIP, sweet Nali.

CindyA 12-05-2013 02:25 AM

So sorry, Gayle. They really do become part of the family, I know this is a very sad day for you. We mourned our last pooch for two years and then got 2 dogs! Multiple dogs for us, a first. Does anyone here get the pet insurance? The vet visits are so expensive.

I had so much work yesterday that I had to stay late and missed my yoga class. I'm upset over that! It's the second week I've had to miss - unavoidable. I'm going to sign up at the local rec center for next semester because it's closer to home. I'm hoping I won't have to miss if I don't have to drive so far. I just hope the class helps my back as much as the one I've been taking. But today my back is not in good shape! I'm going to stretch before work and try to be easy on it today.

Stress eating the last two days - and I had been doing so well. Dealing with student with severe behaviors and too much paperwork to get done! I'm going to take a deep breath and remain calm today. :)

Maggiemay 12-05-2013 04:33 AM

So sorry about your precious dog Gayle. They are such a part of our family & it is so hard to say goodbye. I've been through this myself very recently, along with some other big life changes, and I truly understand your pain. I know we all know she is not in pain anymore but it is still just so sad.

createfourpaws 12-05-2013 05:07 AM

Yes Maggiemay you got in before the deadline. Welcome aboard this adventure.

Gayle,
Many prayers for you and your family. Sorry for the loss of Nali.

createfourpaws 12-05-2013 05:12 AM

Good morning ladies. I have some exciting news. Last night was my companies Christmas party, every year they give away raffle prizes, from gift certificates to resturants to a 7 day cruise. I won the grand prize of the 7 day Royal Caribbean Cruise with a paid week off work. YEAH!!!! Now I a bigger incentive to lose this weight.

Bilben 12-05-2013 05:41 AM

That is exciting! But I don't know if it's more exciting that winning FABRIC! (Just kidding!) That is a GREAT incentive. Congratulations!

Pam H 12-05-2013 06:04 AM

Gayle, so sorry for your loss of Nali. I know losing a pet is a hard thing.
Cindy, congratulations on your win. The cruise is a major win but a week of vacation to go with it is awesome!
I dreamed I was down 5 lbs. It turned out to be 1.5. I'll take it.
