I also collect Czech perfume bottles from the 30' and 4o's. They are the ones with the daubber that fits inside the bottle.

I have inherited pink and green pieces from my DGM and DGGM. There's some pieces that I have not been able to find what the patterns are. I have one piece that belonged to my DGGM that I was offered quite a bit of money for back in the 60's but the lady never did tell me what pattern it was. Wish I knew...I might have something of value and don't know it. I don't have too many pieces but cherish what I have.

I've been collecting Miss America/English Hobnail (interchangeable!) -- pink -- for years. I recently passed it on to my daughter. I did keep some of my pitchers and a few other interesting pieces in various patterns just to keep something pretty in my cabinet!

Interesting posting! Love it,

Wow! Great collection...I hope you don't live in earthquake country! I'd be petrified to have all that glassware displayed like that here!

butterflywing 02-13-2011 11:54 AM

ya know what? my grandmother kept the passover set hidden all year long and we only saw it once a year. poo on that! if i can't look at it and enjoy it, why have it? every piece that i own gets used from time to time. i've broken plenty, but we all enjoyed them. i gave bunches to my kids and they also display and use. it makes me very happy to see it on a table. david's grandmother used hers whenever we came to visit and i always felt like a queen. my own mother was 'afraid' to use any of hers. it stayed behind doors ever since i remember. i sold all the lead crystal to a dealer because none us us liked it or wanted it. same with my mother's passover set.

Qbee 02-13-2011 12:01 PM

that represented a lot of money over all that time.

I have an entire table setting set of the depression glass pink...not sure of the pattern (packed way) plus extra pieces including a water pitcher that I use now.

butterflywing 02-13-2011 03:40 PM

it just knocks me out that so much of it even survived. it reminds me that i have other 'collections' hidden way that i really should look at and get rid of. antique tins and baskets, etc. also antique dust mice.

nlgh 02-13-2011 07:19 PM

I have a few ieces of several different patterns, whatever caught my eye at the time. I also have a collection of cups and saucers, a few angels, and some figurines.

Anne T 02-13-2011 07:30 PM

Have a complete set of green jadite. Kept collecting it until I had a complete set of 12. Told my son it was his inheritance.:)

My huge glass collection isn't considered Depression but is "Early American Pattern Glass" in Moon & Star & Eyewinker.
I need to get rid of most of it now though since I need to sell my house soon.

I have a green set, pink bunny.

june6995 02-13-2011 09:08 PM

i searched all the responded to see if anyone collects the Blue Delphite Cherry Blossom made by Jeanette Glass company in Pennsylvania, during the depression. I was given the child's set of play dishes when I was about 5 years old. It was stored away for years, and to my delight I learned it had increased in value. what was 99C in 1939, was worth over $500 when I last checked, about 10 years ago.

Somewhere about 20 years ago my husband challenged me to see if I could assemble a set of adult dinnerware. I spent about 10 years searching antique shop and collected a good many pieces, but moving from our House to a condo, all was packed in boxes and are still there on the shelves in the basement.

Sorry I don't have photos to share. Perhaps they are on a Depression glass site on the web. It is not clear like the pink is, but is an blue opaque glass. Unusual.

June in Cincinnati

i never had a water pitcher. that must be a beauty. there aren't too many of those around anymore. at least, i don't see them here on the east coast. of course, i don't actively collect anymore, so i don't really look, but i don't remember there ever being too many to begin with. lucky you!
