Starts the story of "my" new machine....

My DH worked on a shirt for me for over 2 hours on Saturday. It is the cutest shirt with "Fishing Tweets" on the front of it.

He clipped all the jumper threads as it changed colors (all 28 thread changes!) and then clipped all the threads off the back.

I'll wear it on Tuesday (the the Strippers & Hookers meeting) so I can show off his handiwork to them too.

By the way...it's "My" new machine but the DH has made all but one of the projects on it so far. He really enjoys relaxing this way it seems.

He is such a sweet lovable guy....I'm soooo dang lucky.

Smiling while he "worked"

Kitsie 03-06-2011 10:46 AM

He IS a DH! I detect a little smugness in that grin?

buddy'smom 03-06-2011 10:49 AM

tlcquiltnut 03-06-2011 10:50 AM

frugalfabrics 03-06-2011 10:55 AM

Very fortunate to have a hubby that enjoys your quilting passion.

moonwork42029 03-06-2011 10:57 AM

LOL...thanks for the comments. He is away quite a bit so he gets first dibs on the machine when he gets home. He did 3 shirts for our DGD's birthday on Saturday also. She was 2 so it was good ones to practice on.

He's a little "woolie" right now, he is usually pretty clean cut but this winter has been so cold he wanted some head insulation.

Kitsapquilter 03-06-2011 11:24 AM

How cute is that? Maybe I should break my DH in on the embroidery machine. Don't know if he could be as creative as you DH. We would have to get more design cards.

cjomomma 03-06-2011 01:01 PM

You are so lucky!! I'm jealous!!He did a great job!

Don't ya just love it when the guys fall in love with our "women's tools" and turn out to be pretty darn good at them!

Okay.......only if there's space and equipment enough that they don't get under *our* feet, LOL, but still.....! :-D

moonwork42029 03-06-2011 03:26 PM

I was going to go with a very basic machine but ohhh no... he pointed to the other one and said "we want that one".... and there lies the tale.

Nasty outside this weekend so at least he wasn't just watching TV.

http://www.emblibrary.com/EL/default.aspx as some of the cutest designs and are pretty reasonable.

Nothing better than seeing an embroidery design come to life! Does he do the stabilizing part also?

Yeah, as you can see, my DH really has enjoyed this for only having it a week. He said I deserved a better one than I was looking at and we even went back this weekend and got 35 more spools of thread. Looks like rainbow brite on the table right now.

Also, it's pretty neat for grandpa to be able to say he made it instead of gma.

lol...funny you should ask.... he tried but I think he was afraid to stretch it out too much. He used a stiff backing instead of the one for knits and the fabric puckered on it. To help keep his spirits up, I did the other hooping for him. Joint effort...we share everything :P

your man is just AWESOME! what a guy :D

I HAVE shown my DH Billys vintage machine repair tutes, and he is excited to help me with that.
AND I have very innocently let the machine repair man who is also a Brother dealer talk to him about embroidery machines :D
SO! a pic of your smiling Hubby is JUST what I need for another nudge :D :D :D

Here's the other pictures I snapped of him working hard.

Found out the 2 yr of DGD walked around this morning pointing on her shirt "Wook...Woody" from Toy Story. She kept telling her mommy & daddy to wook at her shirt for about 20 minutes. She loves Woody and everything is for boys so we bought the online download from Brother and tada, she had her Woody.
