My dishwasher sounds like it is going to take off. :-(

Sooooo I guess I have to begin looking for a new one.
Can anyone help me out to which is the best?
I know they range in price from a couple of hundred to a thousand.
Tried looking it up on the internet but it says I have to subscribe to find out the information - thought someone maybe could help me.
Us quilters like to quilt not do dishes - so tell me which one should I be looking at?

My only requirement is that I want clean dishes without having to do them by hand.

I have a Kenmore and I like it.

I can only offer this advice, stay away from the lower end Kenmores. They cost more to repair than to replace.

Miele are generally considered to be the best, and most expensive of course, but I love my Bosch and prefer its heavier racks. The Kitchen Aids are also getting very good reviews at the moment.

Whatever you get, take some dishes with you to make sure they fit, since all the racking systems are a little different.

The appliance section on Gardenweb.com has lots of good advice on the various makes and models.

I agree!!

Also, I like the models that have the silverware basket on the door. I have had both and you can fit more dishes in with that model.

Just a suggestion, good luck in your hunt

We have the top of the line Kenmore Elite. It is almost 3 yrs old and works perfectly. Daughter has the LG two drawer and loves it as well. My Elite is much quieter than the LG. which was a factor because we have a huge open kitchen/breakfast room. You can hardly tell it is running unless you are right next to it.

I had a Kitchen Aid for 7 yrs at the other house and loved it. Replaced it with the Bosch right before we moved really don't know how that has worked out, think I ran it twice.

Don't know brands. Just wanted to say that some are not noisy. DD got a new one and it's so quiet she didn't think it was working.

I just bought a Maytag about a month ago and really love it.

I really like my Bosch. You can put anything anywhere in the dishwasher. You don't have to worry about top rack safe. I put tupperware on the bottom and don't have a problem. I do have one platter that is too big and have trouble opening the racks when it's in there. I had a Maytag during the recall and the second recall I said take it out.
I just went on the Lowe's website and got a lot of info from there. You can compare multiple units at one time. The I compared them to Bray & Scarff. Then I waited for a sale.
Now I have to do the same for a fridge.
