Hi All,

I have two friends coming over to sew for the day.
DH and the dog are watching the Super Bowl.

We are all having PIZZA for dinner (except the dog).

What are you doing Super Bowl Sunday?

Cindy Carter

Rachelcb80 02-05-2010 02:17 PM

We're watching our Saints for sure! No party here, just me, the kids and hubby.

(Totally off topic but I used to live in Olympia. I miss the northwest.)

MadQuilter 02-05-2010 02:37 PM

I don't. Pat can if he wants.

Maride 02-05-2010 03:22 PM

Of course!

You finish two large quilts ahead of time to the point of attaching the binding. Once the pre-game begins, you start hand sewing your binding, slowly and very carefuly. When the commercials begin, you stop. Get something to eat that DH cooked and once they begin to play again you start binding again. By the time the game is over your quilts are binded and DH can not say you left him alone.

watterstide 02-05-2010 03:25 PM

This quilter will be..DH doesn't like or understand football! I grew up with it. grandpa coached, dad coached, brother played in high school and college.
no favorite, will pick the underdog..which will most likely be the saints!

Tink's Mom 02-05-2010 03:28 PM

My husband and sons will be here with a couple of friends....but I will most likely be in my sewing room with the game on...to watch the commercials....

Lisanne 02-05-2010 03:43 PM

This quilter doesn't. However, I will be with the Super Bowl fans in spirit as I make chili this weekend, lol!

I figure by Sunday we'll definitely be dug out from the record snowfall that's supposed to hit, so I will brave the roads for the Sunday papers and more bottled water. I have enough to make it through the weekend, but not as much as I'd like. Hope the store will have my gallons of distilled on Sunday.

Ninnie 02-05-2010 03:44 PM

I will be watching the game and quilting . Have my frame set up in the Den, and ready to do some hand quilting.

mrspete 02-05-2010 03:47 PM

uh huh

ginnie6 02-05-2010 03:57 PM

not here! Just another day for us....sh will be loading up to head back to the job site, dd will be going to a youth event, and I will be playing the part of the taxi driver. Oh and at some point I will be going over to a friend's house and getting some fabric!

dkabasketlady 02-05-2010 04:02 PM

Yeah rah, Colts!!! I'm originally from Indiana.

Chrys 02-05-2010 04:12 PM

we're going to my in-laws to watch the game, but be sure I will be bringing projects to work on! :)

dsj 02-05-2010 04:32 PM

I will be checking the score, I live in Titans Territory, I have to be secretive about Peyton, I can't act to excited when he's playing or else!

Chasing Hawk 02-05-2010 04:39 PM

Of course we do, in between piecing the blocks.

kathyd 02-05-2010 05:42 PM

Oh, yay. We'll be watching - more for the commercials than the actual game. I'll be doing my hand applique for dd wedding quilt and dh will be doing his wood carving. There is always hand work to be done and that is actually my favorite part.

stitchesnstaples 02-05-2010 05:52 PM

Oh yes, I will be watching. Have all day to sew, game doesn't start till late in the day. I do have to say I am a Payton fan but would be nice to see ST's win. It should be a good game. I always make spare ribs and we eat in front of the TV. Yippy!

Teacup 02-05-2010 06:01 PM

I have to go to friend's house. Football is a big deal for them. They'll be in the dark with the game projected on the wall, so I'll just try to be a good sport and go along for sake of visiting. I'd much RATHER be home sewing and watching the last episode of Emma on Masterpiece Theater. (Luckily I can catch that last show online.)

oldswimmer 02-05-2010 06:28 PM

Nope.. I wont be watching. Going to a Super bowl sale and party at a Quilt store near here. Food and fabric, yea!

mjsylvstr 02-05-2010 06:34 PM

leaving on a cruise at high noon...

maybe all the football fans will be in the sports bar and we can get a seat at a slot machine........

wish me luck...thanks..mj

littlehud 02-05-2010 06:50 PM

My family always watches. I love football and so does my oldest daughter. DGD, youngest daughter and son love the snacks and the comercils. We all have a great time.

missbehavin 02-05-2010 07:33 PM

Oh Heck Yeah!!! GO COLTS!!! My favorite NFL team for about 15 years.. I am thrilled that they are back at the superbowl. Quilting will need to be before and after because during I will be squealing..

thequilteddove 02-05-2010 07:42 PM

Ah huh! I'll be attending all the super bowl fabric sales!

stitchesnstaples 02-05-2010 08:31 PM

I don't think they are having fabric sales here. Darn!

b.zang 02-05-2010 08:35 PM

It's amazing how much quilting can get done even while football is on TV. Might have to spend a little more time watching the screen this time, though.

shaverg 02-05-2010 08:43 PM

Yea Saints, I will be watching and quilting. It is the day for junk food, pigs in a blanket, chips and dip and Snickerdoodle Cookies for DH.

Charlee 02-05-2010 09:10 PM

Go Saints!! :D

First time at the Bowl...I'm tickled pink for this team!

GMA 02-05-2010 09:24 PM

I'm a football momma, love football and have trouble getting other females to watch with me. My kids get it and hubby loves that I love football.

neoma 02-05-2010 09:27 PM

Basketball spoken here!Going to area quilt shop for 5th annual mystery quilt.Good food, good friends and a lot of quilt talk.....neoma

purplemem 02-05-2010 09:31 PM

We'll be watching the game and I'll be hand quilting. I want BOTH the Saints and the Colts to win...I'll be happy as long as it's a good game, don't want a runaway.

Making chili and nachos, and some kind of pie.

Boston1954 02-05-2010 09:55 PM

I am a Hockey fan (Go Bruins) who sometimes watches football. Hubby doesn't care. If a good movie comes on, will have to switch over though. My team (Patriots) is not in it this year.

wvdek 02-06-2010 12:39 AM

Not a fan of football. If DH watches though, my sewing room is in the same room so I will hear it. Ugh! but, I will be quilting.

sew4fun 02-06-2010 06:37 AM

Yes, will be watching. It is a must so I can watch the commercials. Don't really have a favorite team. Will find some kind of hand work to do while it is going on.

montanaquilter 02-06-2010 06:39 AM

my son and husband watch and I quilt! this year my LQS is having a super bowl sale!! so i'll be there shopping and then back to work on quilts!! it's going to be a fun day

Quilt4u 02-06-2010 06:43 AM

DH watches. I just cook and hand quilt.

shortstack 02-06-2010 06:49 AM

First time to ever post but couldn't resist..GO COLTS...

brendadawg 02-06-2010 06:50 AM

Cheering for the Colts!

Pam B 02-06-2010 06:56 AM

Well, I'm from IN so I am a Colt's fan....also, I went to PU so I am a Drew Brees fan...so, YES, I will be watching the Super Bowl. I also enjoy the commercials. We are snowed in so I will be sewing/reading today and most of tomorrow until game time. It is just me and hubby so it will be pretty quiet.

Pzazz 02-06-2010 06:58 AM

We have another potential blizzard coming tomorrow, so won't be going anywhere. Other than when my step-son played football at college, I have never cared to watch it...still don't. I would be happy to record it so I could fast forward thru' the game and just watch the commercials. LOL

We are tiling our hall floor this w/end, so between that and sneaking off to my sewing room when the hubby takes a break, we likely won't be watching. But we will still have good food. ;) hehehe

For all of you that do watch....have a fun time!!!

Patti

rosalia856 02-06-2010 07:27 AM

My husband is spending the day with the guys. His friend is in a wheel chair because of MS. I too have MS and I know how important it is to have friends do things with you. My hubby asked if it was okay. I said sure .I will watch the game and sew . I love foot ball so I will order pizza for myself and have a great time. Hope you all have fun sewing.

Suz 02-06-2010 10:33 AM

Yes, I will be cheering for Peyton Manning and the Colts. Unlike another fallen star, he is such a good role model.

I will be work on wool applique. I am also working on my Calico Gardens, those tiny 3" finished applique blocks. One of these blocks has seven grapes, all smaller than the size of a paper punch circle. Also has 3" nine patches. Love it.

Go Colts!!! Suzanne
