Do they really think we would wear this??

Fashion designer's in Paris must be from another planet. I don't think I have ever seen anyone......famous or otherwise wearing these outfits.

Can you just see us all shopping at the LQS in some of these clothes........LOL

Jackie Spencer 03-02-2014 03:45 AM

Bazaar.....ridicules!!

Dee G 03-02-2014 03:59 AM

"Ready To Wear".......Where? LOL

sandy l 03-02-2014 04:14 AM

Think some of them would be great for Halloween..Guess what alien planet I'm from:D

misspriss 03-02-2014 04:39 AM

Only in a nightmare.

PurplePassion 03-02-2014 05:28 AM

The models don't even look happy to be wearing them. Some of the outfits would be good for the rain and snow season.

Trisher 03-02-2014 05:48 AM

That is scary on all kinds of levels! Just picturing myself with a cut down to the navel mini dress....

Stitchnripper 03-02-2014 06:02 AM

Looks like Project Runway creations.

Rose Marie 03-02-2014 06:44 AM

Fashion shows are a joke. They are just to get designers a famous name. Average people don't wear these Creations for fame styles.

pocoellie 03-02-2014 06:58 AM

I have to agree with Rose Marie. I have to say that the average person wouldn't be caught dead wearing some of the "fashion" clothes, even IF they could AFFORD to.

lynnie 03-02-2014 12:15 PM

I always wondered what the heck was going thru those peoples heads?!?!? Always crazy looking designs, no one would b caught dead wearing. why make these items if no one will wear it???. Is there something going on there that we are not privy to? What crazy drugs do these 'designers' take. I don't even think the eccentric wear these fashions.

tessagin 03-02-2014 12:23 PM

I saw a lot of material for "Crazy Quilts"!!

gale 03-02-2014 12:27 PM

I just ordered this one to wear to church on easter.

Every time I see a designer's way out runway creations, I think of the episode on I Love Lucy, when the group went to Paris, and the girls wanted designer dresses. Ricky and Fred took feedbags from horses on the street, had a tailor make dresses out of burlap, put the dresses in designer boxes for Lucy and Ethel, and they strutted down the street thinking they had the latest fashion! Still laugh at that one!

Sandra in Minnesota 03-02-2014 01:54 PM

Re: that white outfit with the white hat - I bet she would never get into a bank looking like that! hehe
Those gals look like they are going to a Halloween party!

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 03-02-2014 02:00 PM

I can't even figure out why we still have people designing clothes. As far as I'm concerned, the jeans and t-shirt (or sweatshirt) were perfected years ago. No changes needed.

decky 03-02-2014 02:21 PM

You mean you all don't wear clothes like that every day? Would love to have the money that some of them cost so that I could buy fabric. Guess I will keep wearing my jeans and shorts.

Pat in MN

0tis 03-02-2014 04:55 PM

Absolutely, I wear that stuff all the time in my rural town out in the middle of nowhere - the only thing I even recognized and liked was a short black leather jacket - the rest of it is crazy - I don't get it.

I love it. Maybe we can start a fad!!! Bet my toddlers in my Sunday School class would be playing with it or afraid.

Nooooo Gale.....that's the one I wanted! NOT!!!!!!

zennia 03-03-2014 04:10 AM

You sure will be the envy of everyone on Easter.
These would make for a good laugh showing up at you LQS for a costume party,

cactusmomma 03-03-2014 04:33 AM

No but how about that white one. If you fall into a snow drift they will never find you.

miriam 03-03-2014 04:56 AM

It would be much cheaper to just go naked.

I was at the last quilt show in Chicago years ago, and at the same convention center was a jewelry show. It was such a hoot to see the different way of dressing between the quilters and the jewelry folk. Quilters were in jeans, walking shoes, and comfortable shirts. The jewelry ladies were in high heels, tight, short dresses and coiffed hair. Guess who I would rather be?! Haha!

llweezie 03-03-2014 05:37 AM

Last night on the Oscars I saw some pretty bazaar dresses. I would not wear most of them if they GAVE them to me, and they pay BIG BUCKS for them..... and they are so ugly.....

meanmom 03-03-2014 06:03 AM

I have often wondered the same thing. Who would wear these clothes. I have never seen anyone wear these. The hair and makeup are crazy too.

Krystyna 03-03-2014 06:15 AM

I actually think some of them are really stunning. Granted the puffy white thing, the one that looks like a shark costume and that marvelous black lace hat/mask were a bit too ... what is the word without being rude ... edgy? But girls. Let's face it - looking chic at the LQS or even the grocery store can lift spirits - our own and others, too.

I can't wait to watch the Oscar's Special edition of Fashion Police tonight.

Joy Higdon 03-03-2014 06:27 AM

The only thing I can say is with some of these you would have to wear Depends or else get into a lot of trouble if nature called. Bet it would take a while to get some of these things off. Just saying.

i was thinking the same thing

Zinda 03-03-2014 06:47 AM

I'd like to see a fashion show that has clothes that real women wear and could afford.

sewbizgirl 03-03-2014 08:05 AM

This is a fashion show. These styles are only seen on the runway... to establish the designer and his/her style. These looks are ALWAYS modified for production into 'ready to wear', as the designers have to be able to sell to real people in order to survive.

Friday1961 03-03-2014 09:12 AM

The one with the gloves looks like she's getting ready to do dishes or scrub the bathroom!

I like the leather jacket!

And yes, someone will wear these things. Probably not to the LQS, though! ;)

mommafank 03-03-2014 09:12 AM

I saw a couple I might wear if I were model thin.

maryellen2u 03-03-2014 11:30 AM

Not only would the average person not be caught dead wearing them; the average person could wear them if they wanted to, especially give that 60% of our population is obese. (me included!) Now we know where the other 40% are hanging out. I wonder what a fashion show would look like if they were designing clothes for the regular population.

Rose_P 03-03-2014 01:09 PM

I think it's intended as a form of entertainment. I especially LOVE the one with the orange dishwashing gloves and the colorful "bathrobe" to go with it - one of the few things that look as if they might fit me. With that as inspiration I can't wait for Halloween to get here. All it needs to complete the look would be some electric green flip flops and big ole juice can hair curlers.

Onebyone 03-03-2014 03:11 PM

These clothes are made to be worn one time to one event. The women who buy them know exactly the designer name and what line they are from. Just like quilters know a log cabin from a double wedding ring pattern. I can't imagine living in the society that wears outfits like this but there are thousands that live it everyday.

Geri B 03-03-2014 03:19 PM

They look like Halloween costumes for very skinny girls......

Onetomatoplant 03-03-2014 03:29 PM

What kills me is many of the outfits don't look good on the models! If they don't look good on them, they're definitely not going to look good on me! And, if I can help it, my feet are never going into another pair of high heels as long as they live.

Iraxy 03-03-2014 07:40 PM

I was told that it is not so much the clothes, but the colors and the way the clothes are put together that is what they are trying to achieve. I actually like the olive green (?) coat and the outfit she has on too. That said, I am not 6'12" so it would not look nice on me. Looks great on her. Dig the silly hats and head coverings.
