AlwaysQuilting 09-15-2011 03:58 AM

I sew, quilt, knit, crochet.
I'm toying a little with jewelry making but haven't really gotten into it yet.
When (if) I retire I'd like to take some painting and photography classes.

sueisallaboutquilts 09-15-2011 04:21 AM

Before quilting I did a lot of other needlework and sewing but quilting pretty much took over :)
I also love gardening and am passionate about African violets.

ssgramma 09-15-2011 04:36 AM

Gardener, jewelry maker, chef, crocheter, antique furniture restorer

That's all I can think of this early :-)

annthreecats 09-15-2011 04:40 AM

I also like to sew clothes, knit, crochet and garden.

Honeebee, I love your yard art.

Chicca 09-15-2011 05:17 AM

Such wonderful projects you have created! I enjoy simple crochet doilies, hand embroidery and cross stitch.

laughingquilter 09-15-2011 05:18 AM

I weave baskets, do locker-hooking, scrapbooking, carving and counted cross-stitch......but mostly quilting and sewing.

honeebee 09-15-2011 05:27 AM

all the creative people here is great.

sunni 09-15-2011 05:30 AM

mamaw 09-15-2011 05:35 AM

I crochet, knit a little, and do counted cross stitch. I think everyone should know some craft, then they can never be bored.

Navy Wife 09-15-2011 05:38 AM

I knit, cross stitch and scrapbook. It helps the aching hands to change activities.

Conniebury 09-15-2011 06:01 AM

oh the dress and booties are so cute!

I have been taking lessons to crochet. It is harder than I thought it would be.

I also do counted cross stitch and sew simple clothing patterns. I really enjoy making bags, too

nana2makm 09-15-2011 06:06 AM

IF it a craft I have probably tried it at some time or another. I used to tole paint a lot, I owned my own ceramic shop, I've done macrame, cross stitch, stained glass, oil painting....etc, etc. I really enjoy stained glass but I have to do that in the basement b/c of glass slivers. So I sew and scrapbook mostly now.

I really love the baby wreath, I've done baby cakes!

Granny Quilter 09-15-2011 06:27 AM

I sew, knit, crochet, and do plastic canvass.

SparkMonkey 09-15-2011 06:43 AM

Quilting is actually my "second" craft. I mainly focus on knitting--I get a real kick out of making something complicated, wearing it, and getting tons of compliments. I love the reaction when I say "Thanks... I made it!" I knit sweaters, shawls, socks, and winter accessories of all kinds.

I also like to embroider funny little pictures. That's what I pull out when I just want a quick three-hour project to fill an afternoon. I make a doodle on muslin and stitch it out.

I make clothes once in a while, and sometimes I'll play with beads and make jewelry or embellish a garment.

AFQSinc 09-15-2011 06:47 AM

I love to knit and spin. I have also made jewlery, painted and tried my hand at stamping. I enjoy the fiber crafts the most. Quilting is my favorite. I am looking to learn hand applique and maybe hand quilting. I love having my hands busy especially when I have to sit through my husband's political shows!

Connie in CO 09-15-2011 06:51 AM

I just like to make table toppers little things like that, and be here on the quiltingboard.

IAmCatOwned 09-15-2011 07:25 AM

I also knit, crochet, scrapbook and cross stitch. I am severely downsizing my knitting, crochet and scrapbooking hobbies. Family members already have enough afghans and my traveling days are likely limited to quilting expos and such. It's a money/space thing, not a lack of interest. That said, I'm considering taking up nordic walking during the non winter months here.

leiladylei54 09-15-2011 07:34 AM

I do other crafting besides quilting...all kinds of crafts including woodworking, card making, needlepoint, embroidery, etc. Just no knitting or crochet. I also do gardening and such...owned my own Landscape business. Jack of all trades, master of none type. LOL

ckcowl 09-15-2011 07:35 AM

lots of other crafts...i used to every year set out to learn to do something new (before quilting consumed me and i started just learning new techniques each year)
i knit, crochet, hook wool rugs, locker hook, craft sew- make baskets (woven, fabric, grass,) wrapped clothesline bowls, rugs, baskets
weave, dye fabrics, wool felting,
beadwork, embroidery, needle point, cross stitch.
i'm sure there are others- i'm old-
but those are the ones that i keep doing-along with my quilting ;)

Kehoeta 09-15-2011 08:40 AM

I was fortunate that I had a needlearts class in High School... MANY MANY MOONS ago.

So, I crossstitch, macrame, needlepoint, Japanese Bunka, crewel and embroidery. I learned to knit and crochet... so I can do basics, but those weren't the ones that captured my imagination.

I have since learned beading, candlewicking. And my MIL taught me things like making braided rag rugs and chair caning before she passed.

Now - I just need TIME.

carmen garcia 09-15-2011 10:10 AM

I scrapbook also

Grammie Sharon 09-16-2011 03:17 AM

I've tried to learn to knit but it didn't go too well. I scrapbook and make cards.

TanyaL 09-16-2011 04:16 AM

I used to do bronze sculpture and photography. Now I do acrylic painting.

mummadee 09-16-2011 04:18 AM

Gardening and cross stitch. Inclding quilting, cross stitch is my true passion. Also reading, but there's so little time. Work and cleaning/cooking seem to interfere.

auniqueview 09-16-2011 07:43 AM

I'm a photographer, tho with my hip and shoulder problems, haven't been out much lately. I can knit, but haven't in years. I am a lefty, so no one wanted to teach me ANYTHING, lol, so I pretty much have taught myself how to do everything. I still crochet, both yarn and thread, and have done a lot of work in genealogy. I've actually put together several cemetery books and made them available for the libraries. One was put online by an annoying person who didn't see fit to give me credit. I don't mind it being online, but I would at least have appreciate being mentioned for my hard work.

I do some Indian crafts when the mood strikes me. We were talking about shipping quilts....I very carefully packaged up a large mandella I made for another friend who is also of A.I. heritage, and marked all over it FRAGILE, and instructions to NOT PLACE ANYTHING ON THIS PACKAGE. Of course, they broke it. GRRRRR. I had her ship the broken parts back, because it had feathers, stones, etc...and made her another one and drove it up six months later. My favorite thing I have kept is a Peyote ceremony fan. My garage looks like the world's strangest craft store, lol.

It contains yarns, threads, cow horns, feathers, beads, wood items, bones, a skull or two, ribbons...a real variety. And now I am learning to sew and quilt.

QBDOBDO 09-16-2011 07:58 AM

I'm into stamping greeting cards and making jewelry. I have made cards for several years and enjoy it almost as much as quilting.

NANAOF2BOYS 09-16-2011 09:07 AM

I quilt, sew, crochet, knit a little, embrodery, cross stitch, latch hook stuff and a non craft hobby is ham radio contacting others hams all over the world via radio

I sew, knit, crochet, tat, silk floral designs, wedding accessories, write, garden...

kathome 09-16-2011 09:55 AM

Actually, my favorite is crochet, especially with thread. I used to sew a lot of clothes but don't anymore. I also knit, do silk floral arrangements of almost any kind and am in the beginning stages of tatting.

ZTAgirlknits 09-16-2011 10:25 AM

I am a big knitter, in fact that is what I spend most of my down time doing, well that and reading! But now that I've gotten in to quilting its been pretty split between that and knitting. I also make jewelry and scrapbook! Really any little artsy fartsy thing I'm pretty much in to it! :)

quiltmau 09-16-2011 11:38 AM

use to do needle work but my thumbs don't work well any more-now I just bead and read and quilt. Garden but more in a supervisor role-you know-"not there, over there!!"

OHSue 09-16-2011 11:40 AM

Gorgeous stuff, you are one busy gal.
I am a knitter, I knit more than I quilt. Mostly I knit socks, but right now am working on some Hats for Sailors.

HummerGardenCrafts 09-16-2011 11:45 AM

Oh yes, I do all kinds of crafts.Where did you get your duck pattern? That's looks so neat! I also love your garden decorations. Do you go and find dishes and stuff that look like flower petals and stuff? I'm really curious. I have a big flower garden. And some of this would look great in mine.

honeebee 09-16-2011 11:55 AM

i found the pattern for the duck a long time ago in some magazine. the flowers are just pieces of glass and plates i put to together. i fix a pvc elbow on the back and cut a pvc pipe two feet long. that way it can be taken apart.my sister is in the developement stages of making a dog pattern for the baby boys.
thank you everyone for the compliments.

QUILTNMO 09-16-2011 11:55 AM
