I certainly hope I don't have to do that for awhile yet. I know that it is inevitable but I sure don't want what we got last year.

Sadiemae 10-28-2010 12:36 PM

I love snow, but I don't have any pics.

redkimba 10-28-2010 12:46 PM

Does January 2010 count? I will have to post them after I get home...

craftybear 10-28-2010 12:59 PM

This is not a snow picture, but a heavy frost in the hills overlooking the Yakima Valley.

Oh, dear! Someone said the "S" word!!!

pojo 10-29-2010 03:02 AM

Snow word is a bad word for me too. I live by Lake Erie and we get a lot of it here.

Are you near Buffalo? if so you deserve a pity party.

wolfkitty 10-29-2010 08:07 AM

Wow! That's a lot of snow! What do you do when you can't get to the outhouse? (LOL)

I only enjoy looking at Snow if I'm inside my house looking outside, and only after fresh snow has fallen. Believe it or not, we, living here in the desert state of Nevada(northern)/Reno do get snow, and we had a long winter in 2009-2010 (see photo). Yes, we get all four seasons, and all mild. Even in the winter, after a big snowfall, the sun shines and melts them right away.

We in in the southern part of Ontario, so our winters vary a great deal from one year to the next. Here are a couple of pics from previous years.

I enjoy snow, but have never lived where I got much, NW Oregon, W Texas and now SW Arizona. But I did not like to chain when doing long haul driving and did not like driving in it at all

MaryAnna 10-29-2010 12:38 PM

Just lovely photos and your grand daughters are lovely as well....who knew Az got snow?! And by the photos...a lot of it! Send some my way! We rarely get any snow, and when we do it melts away within 24 hrs. We do get ice storms, they aren't much fun and we always lose power when those hit.
Blessings,
MaryAnna

Have you EVER tried to go pee in 10 feet of snow, with snowmobiling outfits on?????????????????????????????? And afraid you'll pee your pants and it'll FREEZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What nice pictures!!! Being from Southern California, I love seeing the pictures of snow from the east. This last one with the blue snow/ice is spectacular. However, I know that it can create hardship also. Never thought of "snow" as a 4 letter word though. Here on the west coast "fire" is our 4 letter word.

Thanks for posting the pictures...................

Southern west coast worries about fires. We're in Central Oregon and we worry about fires AND snow!

We had a lot of snow last year. I like snow best when I can stay inside and look out at it. Don't like driving in it. I got a lot of quilting done last winter when we couldn't go out for a week at a time. This is what my house looked like when we returned from Florida last February.

BATIKQLTR 10-29-2010 07:44 PM

I'm curious as to how you keep the inside of your houses warm. Our gas/electric bills are so high here in So.Cal.. I've often wondered..............

I love seeing these pictures. It was 94 degrees when I drove home from work this afternoon. Now it has cooled down outside and we have all the windows open to catch the breeze.

We don't see much snow in our area, but we got this last year sometime (can't remember when exactly), but something you need to know is that our elevation is 17 ft above sea level so this is definitely a rare picture.

Rann 10-29-2010 10:08 PM

Being a very south Georgia person, I love the few opportunities I have to see it. I enjoyed the 2 or 3 inches when I was in Atlanta in 2-10.

We use wood heat 95% of the time in the winter. We have a good sense home -- use 2 1/2 cords of wood...if we had to buy the wood, at $130. a cord, it's the cheapest way to go. As it is, we "harvest" the wood off our property. Lodgepole pine is the wood - I call it a weed.....pulled 64 seedlings out of my 60 foot flower bed last summer in just one day!!!!! The next week, there were almost as many!!
