Excellent find for you! and thanks for sharing with us.
I looked for my zip and put them on my list too. Would be nice if I found machine needles. Did you see any?

Oh Mine, I have a TM just down the street from me. When went to a queen to a king I got all my bedding there. Yes, I too get most of my sewing things from them. Wonderful store.

Tink's mom, everything is about 20 to 30 minutes away from us .. or more. lol

After reading this post, I went yesterday. Found an Omnigrid cutting mat 3'x4' for $11.99!!! Also a quilting book for $3.99. You bet I scarfed those up. Thanks for the tip.

We have several here in San Antonio and I frequent them often but didn't realize they sometimes carried these items. Thanks for the tip - I'll look more carefully next time.

I got a good buy on a Singer rotary cutter once, but haven't thought to check back. Thanks for the info.

fktsewing 05-11-2010 12:56 PM

mine has had them too, but not all of their stores get them.
It depends on what stores are near them and want to get rid of things. I have gotten rulers, fons & porter pins, and stuff and the neatest little metal case with a sewing machine on top with a latch---when I got it home and opened it, it had screwdrivers, cleaning brush, small bottle of oil for the machine, seam ripper, and a few other needs to clean the machines. I only paid $1.99 for it. I got my son the olfa mat, ruler and rotary cutter set there for $3.99. Just keep looking and yes you have to go often. I collect I Love Lucy dolls and I got the one with Ethel at the Chocolate Factory for $9.99----saved me a bunch---check out ebay and what they are selling for.

Gee and I thought I was the only one who shopped thrift stores. I have gotten a few hoops to use. does anyone know where I can buy a bungie for my bungie hoop???

Nanjun 05-11-2010 03:01 PM

We do have a Tuesday Morning store here. I have never seen sewing notions there. I do get a flyer from them now and then.

sew4fun 05-11-2010 03:35 PM

Okay, ladies, made a trip to our Tuesday Morning store this morning and no sewing notions. :( They did have a lot of scrapbooking supplies as I knew they would. But I won't give up, will try and remember to go there in a couple of months.

Tuesday Morning sells the better quality products from the high end stores and the sister store Big Lots gets the lower priced items.
My greatest find I bought there was this: http://www.amazon.com/Himalayan-Salt...f=pd_sbs_gro_6

for $9.99. DH still doesn't understand it but he uses it more then I do.

What do you use it for?

zz-pd 05-12-2010 08:43 PM

don't have one here but I wished I did, we might be able to afford 2 dollars for something new. God bless. Penny

BellaBoo 05-12-2010 09:51 PM

I use it to bake fish, breads, pizza and I use it as a cutting board for vegetables and fruit. It amazing. It can be washed everyday and used for years.

flikkem 05-13-2010 07:16 AM

I checked a Tuesday Morning in San Antonio yesterday. The clerk told me where they had some items. It was a rather limited selection. Tuesday Morning constantly varies on what it has available though so I may find a real bargain there another time.

Debbie B 05-13-2010 09:21 AM

Yes, I do have a Tuesday Morning store in my neighborhood. I just never thought about them having quilting supplies. I'll have to check it out...Thanks!

Also the store's shopping totes are the best. Big roomy rectangle shape with a removable firm bottom for .99. I washed one in the washing machine and it looks like brand new. Before I buy anywhere I look at Tuesday Morning first.

We have one here, but its a half hour ride and I've never been there... I think I'll check it out!

No but I have been in a few and they do have great prices on these. I have bought a few myself

Moonpi 05-15-2010 09:23 AM

You guys rock! I went to ours today and got a 6x6 fiskars mat, some templates - tumbler, hexagon, diamond, triangle, and apple core - hem gauge, disappearing marker, elastic. seam buster (same as jean-a-ma-jig) and a set with a soapstone marker, sharpener, and refills!

All that, and change back from ten dollars! I found my loot mixed in with scrapbooking supplies.

6/8/10
Just went by Tuesday Morning to check out the Fons & Porter sale items. Supplies very were limited, but they had a Singer Althea sewing machine for $199, a 12 pack of FQs for $6.99, a rolling fabric sewing chest, smaller padded sewing caddies and a few basic supplies. Items may vary by store.
