The one here sells Fons and Porter's, Clover, Fiskars and other notions at lower then lower clearance prices. The selection changes often. For example I bought the big tin of F&P assorted glass head pins for $1.99, regular $19.99 and F&P machine topstitch needles for .59 a package. I find all sorts of new sewing gadgets there from time to time. I bought all the different size Clover yo yo makers in one package for $9.99 before I saw them advertised in the quilt magazines. My guild members think I spend a fortune on good quality quilting notions. I don't say where I buy them because they know the store is here and choose not to shop there. I don't have any sympathy when they go to Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's and pay four times what I do for the same things.
Also the store's shopping totes are the best. Big roomy rectangle shape with a removable firm bottom for .99. I washed one in the washing machine and it looks like brand new. Before I buy anywhere I look at Tuesday Morning first.

We used to have one but it closed. I had never shopped in there before, but wish I had!

sewjoyce 05-09-2010 08:40 AM

YES, we have a Tuesday Morning store not too far from me!! I've gotten rulers, etc. but have never seen any F&P stuff...maybe I need to go more often??

amma 05-09-2010 08:40 AM

amandasgramma 05-09-2010 08:52 AM

debbieumphress 05-09-2010 08:53 AM

I know there was one by my mom's a few hours from here. I can go when I visit her. I am definitely going to check it out. Thanks for the info. Love Fons and Porter. I did catch a few things at Joann's on clearance for a song...

BellaBoo 05-09-2010 08:53 AM

Give the store a call and ask what notions they have in stock.

debbieumphress 05-09-2010 08:58 AM

Yahooo. I googled and found one about 30 minutes from me in Weatherford,Tx. I may run out there today. It is mom's day and I deserve it.LOL Road trip coming up!!!

ToucanSam 05-09-2010 09:04 AM

We have two nearby. I'll check them out this week, but they usually look like a hurricane blew through them. :)

Shemjo 05-09-2010 09:06 AM

I have one close to my favorite thrift store. I haven't seen notions. Will look more closely this Tuesday on my weekly visit. (25% discount for seniors at the thrift store on Tuesdays!)

Jim's Gem 05-09-2010 09:08 AM

I have one near me and I just walked through the store on Friday. I didn't see any of that!!! I guess I may have to visit the store again and look to see if they carry any good sewing supplies.

SherriB 05-09-2010 09:08 AM

I will have to check out the one we have here. Never thought to look there for sewing notions.

virtualbernie 05-09-2010 09:09 AM

I have one up the street from me but I didn't know Tuesday Morning sold sewing supplies. Gonna check it out tomorrow! Thanks for the tip!

BellaBoo 05-09-2010 09:10 AM

They notions and craft items are in the toy aisle here, not where you think to look.

FunkyMonkey 05-09-2010 09:59 AM

I think we do.. I will check it out. Like is like Overstock.com.. I bought my martelli rotary cutter there and extra blades, when on a couple of weeks later and they didn't have it.

Tink's Mom 05-09-2010 10:16 AM

I have one about 30 minutes away...guess It's time for another little road trip....

sharon b 05-09-2010 12:17 PM

I have never seen anything like that in ours, will have to ask next time I go in

granniebj 05-09-2010 12:22 PM

We don't have any around here, but I sure wish we did. All we have here in town is WallyWorld, but I have a Joann's about 15 miles away........just can't afford to get that kind of stuff there!

Moonpi 05-09-2010 01:27 PM

I don't go to ours often, but have never seen any sewing stuff there. Great prices on bath sheets, though.

craftybear 05-09-2010 02:27 PM

never heard of that store

CarrieAnne 05-09-2010 04:20 PM

Aw, I wish we had one here!

EllaBud 05-09-2010 04:25 PM

Tuesday Morning is great for finding quilting stuff. Now, granted, it's a hit or miss thing, but I've bought Fisker's rulers, Fons and Porter notions, etc., cheap. You just have to pick through the junk they have.

SuziC 05-09-2010 04:27 PM

You are lucky...we don't have that store near me

red roses 05-09-2010 04:28 PM

There's one near me. I'm going to check it out. Thanks for mentionning it!

clem55 05-09-2010 04:37 PM

I have one here in town, but I"ve only been there once, to pick up a Kinkaid picture for my son and his wife. We were advised to get there early in the morning, we were there at 7:30 and there was a huge line! I did manage to get three pictures with the help of my hubby!!
ut I never went back, just thought they were open on Tuesday, dumb me!!

marsye 05-09-2010 04:41 PM

The last time I was in one it was kinda junky. :?

littlehud 05-09-2010 08:33 PM

I wish we had one. What great buys.

DebraK 05-09-2010 08:47 PM

I never thought to look for sewing stuff.

SunAngel 05-09-2010 08:52 PM

I wished I lived by your store. Mine doesn't have things like that. At least not when I have been there.

I'm going to have to look again.

BellaBoo 05-10-2010 07:42 AM

The one in my town is very neat, everything arranged nicely and very clean. It didn't use to be that way but the new managers are a retired married couple and they keep the store in excellent condition.

Dancing Needle 05-10-2010 07:48 AM

Haven't been in the one in town for a long time. Never thought to look for quilting supplies there. Thanks for the tip...I'm on my way!

sewnsewer2 05-10-2010 09:10 AM

We have one here but their prices are way outragieously expensive!! They mostly have Christmas things too. Lousy store here.

varacefan 05-10-2010 09:18 AM

One just opened about 1 mile from my house - I'll have to hurry over there to check things out.

Olivia's Grammy 05-10-2010 01:53 PM

Don't have one close to me, but one of my students found the pins and a couple of other F & P things at her store.

gotthebug 05-10-2010 02:48 PM

I was just there this afternoon and thanks to this board I picked up a 6x24 ruler for 4.99. They had a packet of templates for "drunkards path" but I didn't even check that price. there were a few sewing notions. I will have to check back another time for more goodies. Thank you for the tip

QBeth 05-11-2010 02:51 AM

Thanks for the info; I'd never heard of this store. But, I found one that is on the way heading home from work. Will have to check it out!

sew4fun 05-11-2010 02:56 AM

We have one here but don't go there that often. Have never seen sewing supplies just scrapbooking things. Will have to check it out more often.
