Just took a big stack to a quilt retreat last week end and gave them away! Ended up with 1 left when I came home on Sunday. Letting the subscriptions run out on most of them; most of my ideas now come from the QB or on line.

I keep them all....and re-read most of them on a semi-bi-annual basis. I just can't part with these "ol'friends" and when I need inspiration, this is where I turn........

I have some from back in the 60's. Now just keep ones I really want then pass the rest on!

If the issues has a lot of articles or patterns I like, I tag them with a post-a-note and keep them. Otherwise, I tear out the article and put it in a plastic sleeve in a notebook. As a matter of fact, I just added more last evening and enjoyed looking through all the old ones. Then I throw out the torn up magazine. I hate to, but after watching a few episodes of "Hoarders", I try to get rid of stuff that's just taking up space.

I don't have quilting magazine, but I do have several of the Piecework magazines. I need to pdf the articles that I like & want to keep so I can pass the magazine along or just trash them.
PS - quiltmom04 - Hoarders (A&E) is the reason I am really going through my house & clearing stuff out that I don't use or need. |
I agree with you (hoarders made me start clearing out) Plus getting older!!!!!

About once every year or two I figure out which ones I am willing to part with and gift them to another quilter.
