I really would like to know that the package made it..even though i always ship with tracking, i have no idea if it actually made it to you!
Could you please let the person know, that you got it! As a rule, i let you know that is was shipped, and try to remember to give you the tracking number..so you can look for it.

I am not looking for a "Thank you"..i am worried about the package, and you getting what you paid for.

I have tried to keep up with feedback here too..as a courtesy to people who may be anxiuos about buying things from people here..so they know it is a good thing.

This is what i read this morning..that brought this to mind..

Yes, and sadly, I didn't have a good outcome, from the point of view that the goods didn't arrive. It turned out that I wasn't the only one, and thankfully I had paid through Pay Pal and got my money back. I haven't seen any posts from the seller since then either.

I think though, that it was an isolated event, or at least, just one seller, and that doesn't mean that any of the other sellers here are the same, and if anyone else had something I wanted, my experience wouldn't put me off.

watterstide 11-25-2010 04:00 AM

I understand and know about the incident your referring too. it was so sad, hurtful and people lost money they couldn't afford to loose.

this thread is not meant to bring up old wounds, and i am sorry this happened to such good people here..

this is about letting someone know you got what you ordered..
Feedback is optional, i am not worried about wether i get feedback or not, it used to upset me on ebay..no feedback left.
but i am no longer concerned about that anymore. it is just about making sure it,what you bought, made it to the right hands..

AlwaysQuilting 11-25-2010 04:05 AM

I haven't bought anything from you but I have twice bought from others here at the board with perfect results.
But you've got me wondering if I let them know that their packages arrived.
So, emsgranny and quiltergirl80, I got your packages on time. I'm sorry if I didn't let you know. And thank you.
And thanks for this thread.
It's a good idea and I'll be more diligent about letting the seller know from now on.

Darlene 11-25-2010 04:08 AM

I have only done this one time and it was a good experience. The lady did right by me.

watterstide 11-25-2010 04:09 AM

They may not see this..but you could PM them or leave them feedback..even if it is late..it would make them feel better.
thanks for your reply..

I sold a beautiful quilt, on ebay, it made me sick, not getting a confirmation from them, or feedback..

but now i look at it as, no news is good news!

I checked my list of PMs and I'm embarrassed to admit I don't see a post to them from me
But I did leave feedback for them so I'm not a total poop.. lol

scrapykate 11-25-2010 04:25 AM

I've always PM the seller but don't know how to leave feedback. Can someone tell me how?

if you click on thier board name..it will bring up thier profile, scan down and you will see :
"Feedback/rating": (10, positive 100.0% (list))

once you click on that, you will see:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/user_fe...p?usernum=8988

This is mine as an example..lol

thanks for asking!

scrapykate 11-25-2010 04:45 AM

Thanks, will go and leave feedback now:-)

I really appreciate getting at least "it arrived" from the buyer.

I also like to get "it arrived and I love it" - but I can live with "it arrived"

I now always have the buyer purchase delivery confirmation, but apparently stuff doesn't always end up where it was supposed to.

I do try to always let the seller/sender know when I've received something.

debbieumphress 11-25-2010 05:44 AM

OH, I try to do it as soon as packages arrive so as not to forget but if that one slipped by me, I thank you and apologize. I think everyone pm's me to make sure and me them. Delivery confirmation is wonderful.

wolfkitty 11-25-2010 05:46 AM

I have made a number of purchases from sellers here, and have always done well. I try to let people know when I receive their package, but I don't always connect 'real' names with avatar names. (I need to keep better records!)

They are a small 12 x 18 device that your machine sits on and it gives it an angle so that the front of the machine tilts towards you so you son't have to look over and down. Helps the back and short ladies. LOL. I have a post for them

Gollytwo. I am sure you did or I would have been checking with you. But you are welcome. Part of my problem in letting people know is they don't put their boardnames on the packages and I have to wait until I can remember who sold it. So that would help.

I bought only once here, with perfect results. Have left positive feedback and sent PM to the seller also.
It's the way I'm used to handle my purchases. I always buy on line and always let my sellers know about the results. It's some sort of respect and thats the way I want to be treated as well.:D:D
Nice post, nice reminder.
Thank you!

cjomomma 11-25-2010 06:21 AM

I always PM the seller as soon as the package arrives. I hope this wasn't stated already. Sometimes we purchase from several ppl and if their board name is not on the package or in the package then we don't know who to thank, especially if were not familiar with their first name. Sometime using the user list search by location does not help. If you are worried about a purchaser receiving their package then PM them, I see nothing wrong in asking at all.

watterstide 11-25-2010 06:22 AM

That is really nice debbie!
looks professional, instead of having a book under it! great item!

some of you may of noticed the title of this thread changed, i asked that they do this for me..it is clearer, as to what the thread is about..thanks so much to the great mods!

bearisgray 11-25-2010 06:27 AM

I try to include an index card with the item with my board name, and a return address label - along with the person's name and address - in case the outer envelope gets shredded.

(I noticed that I omitted the card on something I just mailed - sorry about that)

redvette54 11-25-2010 07:10 AM

I've done some trading here and buying, I try and let the person know when the items were mailed and I'll PM when I receive a package. And most have done the same for me.

sewhappy30 11-25-2010 07:24 AM

I always let the person know when I receive something. I like to know when I sent something that it has been received and I do the same when I receive something. I also send feedback.

wanderingcreek 11-25-2010 07:37 AM

I always let the seller know when I receive something. I know that it sometimes takes a long time for stuff to get to me from the US but that is because our postal system is soo slow. Actually I don't know if it customs or the po that is slow but when it takes a letter 5 days to go from one place to another that is 1/2 hr away I'm thinking it is the po. I have had priority flat rate boxes take close to a month to arrive. First class mail seems to be faster than the priority mail or at least as fast. I PM the seller and then leave feedback for them as well.

CoyoteQuilts 11-25-2010 09:42 AM

I have sold many things and I have yet to get a "package arrived, thank you" I guess that is why most posters say, "after it leaves my hands I am no longer responsible" unless of course we insure it.....

Also, frustrates me too!

amma 11-25-2010 09:53 AM

Thank you for bringing this up, it is a great reminder :D:D:D

just_the_scraps_m'am 11-25-2010 10:39 AM

i try to--
it's common courtesy--
like thank you & your welcome--
but i gotta agree with Coyote....
