It's the best way to get from point A to point B without a lengthy conversation! DH is very busy at work so when I NEED to get a message to him I text him. AND in a school zone! lol

My kids know better to pick up when I call. I don't text.

My phone is used almost exclusively for texts. All the family and friends do it (and it's the only way to contact one nearly-deaf cousin, as she never hears the house phone). Our rates are such that texts are much less expensive than calls. It's so much faster and more efficient in getting information across!

Oh, yes. It is very helpful when you cannot get someone on the phone otherwise (like when they are talking on their phone). Also I can see a text when in a meeting and my phone is on silence. Sometimes you just need to see a message quickly.

No, I only have a cell phone for emergencies.

no, I have a tracphone and pay $100 a yr for more than enough minutes for me. The thought of a monthly cell phone bill of over $100 a month always stops me.

Heck no! I have a basic cell phone for emergencies. Our home phone does not call outside of town. We live in the boonies and have cut alot of the frivilous charges out. We DO have the basic DISH and enjoy the freebies that are offered each month. By cutting down we are able to take short trips when we want to.
