I live in SC and our lantana comes back but it takes it a while to emerge in the late spring. I see others said you can bring it inside.. could you possibly mulch really really heavily? You may be too cold there to do that?

I'm wondering about tropical hibiscus. I have a gorgeous big one in a clay pot. I've tried and tried and they have never made it through the winter, not even stored under the house where it is actually somewhat warm.

Why would you want to go to all that trouble for a Lantana they are a weed here and they don't smell nice

I know Lantanas don't have a good smell - but they are very pretty. I love mine. And butterflies and hummingbirds like them. They do have a tendency to spread but I just mow down the unwanted shoots as they come up.

I am goin to try a weeping willow. I have always wanted one!

Yes, I do this every year. As mentioned, cut it back, keep it watered and in a sunny window. They do get a little scraggly, but put it back in the ground after danger of frost has past in the spring and it'll come back. I love the fragrance - though many here mentioned they didn't like it.

I have them growing outside here and even after freezing they always come back! :-D
