I started hand embroider about 3 months ago and love it. I like to always have some handwork going on for watching TV so when I'm between handquilting I work on embroidery. I'm actually doing a BOM. I'll post a link.

I also do counted cross stitch and I've just recently started hand embroidery. I have a project going now that I've posted a few times. I'll post when I finish it.

I have a quilt top that was begun by my mother back in the 60's that has a combination of applique and embroidery on it. I've been doing a little embroidery myself here lately, and after taking another look at hers, mine doesn't stand up to her quality.

I do love the work, it is relaxing to me as is hand quilting. I gotta work on my stitching, though, so my mom won't fuss at me at the Pearly Gates!

Embroidery is still alive and well at my house too. I just don't do the Cross Stitch anymore because I don't see as well. But I love the crewel work and the old fashion embroidery. I am also into the Brazilian embroidery and want to do a quilt top using squares from it. Maybe someday... it will happen.

I am always looking for new stitches to learn in embroidery. I do know most of the usual ones. does anyone have any sites or pictures of embroidery stitches to share?

I do what I call confusion quilting which is similar to the crumb crazy quilting. I sometimes use embroidery stitches on the checkbooks and other small items.

I'm always looking for more ideas! I like to use a differant stitch for each small seam.

Here is a check book cover I did. Not anything too fancy as far as embroidery goes.

I'm working on some stamped cross stitch blocks and want to combine them in a quilt when they are finished.

I started needle work when my great aunts taught me huck towel weaving.

I have also done embroidery, crewel, latch hook rugs, plastic canvas, sewing clothes, knitting and crochet. Now, quilting is my new hobby to master.

Would love to see the Brazilian embroidery!

I don't have any pictures handy. It is similar to the Swedsih Weaving. It was done on huck cloth which had threads you pulled embroidery floss under to make designs- similar to Aztec or southwest designs.
I'll try to find some pictures. You might try googling huck towel designs or swedish weaving.
