does your CAT snore???

My Princessa Zoey, snores like a lumberjack. Dr. says she's o.k. but at night it gets louder. I think coz she goes out with that boyfriend of hers, Patches, and they ride around in his helicopter all hours of the night. then she comes in and is tired and snoring. She snores all day too, but at night, forget it.
what do you do to silence the snoring. oh, she sleeps with dh and me.

jbud2 11-21-2013 03:18 PM

my cat snores, my dog snore, my husband snores. I just try to fall asleep fast!

ragquilter 11-21-2013 03:56 PM

My cat CC (who died this summer) sounded like a treble from Star Trek (original TV show). She was so funny, I miss her funny little snore. One of the other 2 furry little monsters snores, she is such a little cat, but she sounds like a person she snores so loud. The third one doesn't snore, he is 15 and I don't recall him ever snoring.

Luanna 11-21-2013 03:57 PM

My cat snores but not too loud. She also "talks in her sleep". She meows and seems to carry on a complete conversation.

Tink's Mom 11-21-2013 04:00 PM

Don't have a cat...have a Chihuahua instead. Tink snores...and talks in her sleep, too. Tink sleeps with me and snores just awful...especially when she has her head next to mine on my pillow.

Janet L52 11-21-2013 04:11 PM

Oh yes, our cat, Throckmorton snores. He wakes me up every night (and he's in a different room) ! My husband snores, too, but that is much better with his C Pap machine. ( Maybe I need to talk to the vet about a C Cat machine?)

lockesnest 11-21-2013 05:04 PM

Yes, Sorrowful snores! I suggest earplugs!

M.Elizabeth 11-21-2013 05:28 PM

I don't have a cat, but my Cockapoo Midnight snores. He sleeps with me at the foot of the bed.

nativetexan 11-21-2013 06:22 PM

yes, my mama cat does. not all the time. I think it happens when she's in a particular position. But it's cute. Ragquilter- a treble from Star Trek!!!. That's what I've been trying to think of. my refrigerator makes that noise. sort of a purrrr. drives me nuts.

lynnie 11-21-2013 06:41 PM

my little girl talks in her sleep too, she'll have full conversations sometimes, then if she goes in her hideout, it echos. she usually sleeps on my legs, which is uncomfortable for me, but I guess great for her. it's such an honor to have her sleep with me, I wouldn't want her to be disturbed or uncomfortable. I need a baby c-pap for her cute little face.
I guess it's common, so we all have to put up with it. but that's why we love them so much

AngeliaNR 11-21-2013 06:45 PM

Olive snores, but my boys don't--she isn't too loud, just loud enough that I wonder "what is that sound?" before I realize that it is her. :)

lynnie 11-21-2013 06:47 PM

Zoey sounds like heeeeee, heeeeeee and loud you can hear it over the tv. i'm so glad we all love our furbabies so much

julie 11-21-2013 06:49 PM

Smoky, our male cat, well he used to be, snores like it's his job. We just laugh, but then he doesn't sleep in our room. Hemingway, our used to female, doesn't snore. She sleeps with us occasionally. Smoky weighs over 20 lbs., Hemingway about 8 lbs. Wonder if that's the difference...

Lynnie, I shouldn't laugh, but the way you wrote about it is so funny! You should write a children's book about Zoey's escapades.

Throckmorton! Oh goodness- that has to be the funniest cat name ever! And Janet, when I read "C Cat machine" I hooted out loud. Our cat who passed away last year was named Muzzby. As in "I muzz be nuts to have gotten another cat"

Ragquilter I am sorry for your loss of CC. I don't think we ever forget pets we've loved.

If any one else has a cat that sounds like a tribble, be extra careful and make sure they are spayed or neutered. You know what they say about "The Trouble with Tribbles"!

Nativetexan, you are safe. Refrigerators don't need to be neutered.:)

Grandma Cindy 11-22-2013 10:24 AM

I viewed a video online yesterday of a little orange duck, snoring on it's owners blanketed lap, so cute...

Tiggersmom 11-22-2013 10:44 AM

I never heard of cats snoring!!!!!!! what you don't learn on this QB! lol

I've never heard Tigger snore, hubby, plenty.

Raine54RN 11-22-2013 10:58 AM

My Hershey has a gentle manly snore, love to hear it when he's n my feet. He s the first cat I've ever had hat snored!

tessagin 11-22-2013 11:07 AM

I try to get to sleep before everyone else does. DH and 3 dogs! Unfortunately, one very early morning I had to go down the hall and almost didn't make it. I stepped on a loose floor board and they all woke up with the most awful barking and yelling and I laughed so hard I almost didn't make it. The neighbors called to see if everything was ok. After all was said and done the 3 dogs and Dh went back to sleep. I was very much awake therest of the night.

lynnie 11-22-2013 12:18 PM

I noticed Zoey has different snores. At night whenshe sleeps on top of me, she SNORES like a baby mac truck. please, don't get me wrong, i'd never trade her in, she's my baby girl. Now she's on top of the couch, where it forms a comfortable v for her to sleep in, now it's a tribble sound, and kinda like a heeeeea, heeeeeea, so darn cute. I love to watch her sleep and chase things in her mind. she's an indoor girl, and fixed. She does go out thru the porthole under our bed. Her boyfriend now is Patches, the ginger cat, he's called Patches coz he has a patch over his eye, a motorcycle accident, but...he switches which eye it's on, so we just think it's there for the look. he's a studly sturdy cat.
Zoey is about 11 lbs, should be 10, but...how do I resist her asking for treats. any hints will be gratefully appreciated.
Aren't our furbabies just the greatest?!?
Tess, don't wait so long next time (lol).

Mom of 6 cats 11-22-2013 12:27 PM

My cat Lovie snores. He is one of 6 and the only one who does. :-)

Yes and clicks her teeth we just nudge her, finally she moves the foot of the bed.

solstice3 11-22-2013 01:09 PM

If she does, I can't hear her over hubby.

ILoveToQuilt 11-22-2013 01:58 PM

No cat, but my German Shepherd puts my DH to shame!

lynnie 11-22-2013 02:47 PM

Anita, I guess the bigger the animal, the bigger the snorer. ohhh, but what would we do without them, be very lonely

Sandygirl 11-22-2013 03:11 PM

My pug sure does!
sandy

jeaninmaine 11-22-2013 04:45 PM

Two of our three cats snore, so does the dog, at least 4 of the chickens and my dh. And so do I when I roll onto my back.

Without which one? The GSD or the DH? LOL :p

Anita (used to live in Brooklyn)

RugosaB 11-22-2013 05:55 PM

No, but I have no cat.
Now if anyone asks "Does your dog fart?" I'm ready to answer!

quiltjoey 11-22-2013 06:14 PM

No cat here but my Jack Russell snores (she sleeps on the floor by my DH's side of the bed) and she barks and growls in her sleep. DH snores also and after years of this listening to this and not being able to get a good night's rest, I take a 1/2 tab. of Ambien and I sleep like a baby!!

My girl is SOOOO bad, she could peel the wallpaper from the walls!

Anita

lynnie 11-22-2013 08:10 PM

well...Zoey is such a princess, she doesn't do the f word, but I sometimes think she might, she seems to blame it on dh at times, or whomever else is in the house. in her words...'Princesses don't fart!"
boy her tiara has no tarnish stains on it!

Rubesgirl 11-22-2013 09:22 PM

Our Maine Coon, Daisy, snores as loudly as my husband! The only thing is ... there's no such thing as a kitty CPAP. :)

celwood 11-23-2013 05:29 AM

You have not heard snoring until you own an English Bulldog! Sometimes I have to turn the TV sound up so I can hear it.

margee 11-23-2013 05:44 AM

My cat doesn't snore but my little Pug sure does. Both sleep with me. I don't try to stop the snoring- just enjoy it. It's like the sound of an alarm clock ticking. I like it.
margee

lynnie 11-23-2013 04:14 PM

omg and English bulldog, I can only imagine that sound and a pug, what noises they must make together, but we all love themin spite of it.

juneayerza 11-23-2013 08:05 PM

No Cats here, but my little dog snores whenever she is asleep. She sleeps with us and most of the time DH and dog's snoring is coordinated. When its not, her snoring sounds like an echo of DH's snoring.

And yes, she farts too. I agree with ILoveToQuilt; it diffently can strip the paint off the wall. But she doesn't admit doing it.

Chasing Hawk 11-23-2013 08:48 PM

Kola doesn't snore but she can sure hog the bed.

Now my dog Chili Palmer snores, she naps under our bedroom window. When we are in there reading we can hear her snore.

gigi4419 11-24-2013 02:54 PM

Yes! A lot!

vschieve 11-24-2013 08:40 PM

My cat Fella sleeps at the foot of my bed every night. He also naps there, which is where my sewing machine is. Sometimes when I am sewing, I hear him not really snoring, but this kind of a whimper, and then he starts making a sound as though he is sipping water through his lips. And he is dead to the world in lala land when he does this sipping sound, almost like a kitten nursing. But he is an older cat, nine years young!!

Then there is Peaches, the orangie in the window on my avatar. He is 6 years old, but thinks he is still a kitten. He likes for us to cuddle and hold him, and then he puts his nose and mouth under our armpit and goes into the movements with his paws like he is still nursing on his mama. When all done, our shirt is soaked with kitty slobber. Only in our backyard, gardening clothes do we allow him to be a baby kitten!!

lynnie 11-25-2013 02:53 PM

I had a ginger about 27 yrs ago, that never grew up. i'd wake up in the middle of the night and have to change my night shirt coz he would nurse on the shirt. he died the day after his 10th bday, heart problems. I miss that little guy. wish I had them all at the same time.
