Adorable ... I see you are doing "soft sculpture" .

icon17 01-30-2011 10:58 AM

Those are so unbelievable :!: Do you sell them? Have you ever made one of someone say from a picture like a 'Caricature' but in 3D? 8-) I would like one done. 8-)

lalaland 01-30-2011 11:29 AM

My favorite dealer has an ongoing class for doll makers of the type you make and they have a theme and contest every year - last year it was Vegas showgirls. Needless to say, the workmanship blows my mind and the detail boggles my mind.

Your dolls are amazing!

Amazing dolls. I am a quilter who dreams of making dolls. I have a pattern, but haven't found fabric to use. Where could I find the lovely fabric you used?

salmonsweet 01-30-2011 12:06 PM

The birdnest lady is made of a type of flannel that I get at Hancocks. It is called Grand Flannel.

The doll with drink glas is made of a fake suade fabric that has a knitted back. You use the wrong side of fabric on both of these. Usually. You can use the fuzzy side if you like it better. You can get fake suade at Hancocks or Joann's.

Glad ya'll like my dolls. I'll see if I can find some more pix to post.

Actually, elinore is a friend of mine. But she ha so many friends and followers that it might take a minute for her to remember me. No, elinore has nothing to fear from me! She is a very talented lady. I am nowhere near the artist that she is. But thanks for the comparison. I have made a few of her patterns and she was my first inspiration. She makes patterns and I make dolls from other peoples patterns. Thanks everyone for the cudos! bye the way, have ya'll seen any of elinore's quilts? WILD!
