I still have many every day, but I think the number is slowly decreasing.

OK, how do you do it? I have 4 feeders and 4 birds. They never get to eat because they spend all their time chasing each other off the feeders. Which ever one gets there first sits up in a nearby tree and will spend all day chasing the others off the feeders. I have tried putting them close together, far apart, and even on opposite corners of the house. They just can't seem to get along. Sigh.

>>>Grandpa. No one bothered him or tried to fight him away. Was easy to tell he was old.<<<

That's a Ruby Throat Female. Notice no dark throat feathers. I would suggest an old female (Grandma). Could be she is sick too & others avoid her. I know many birds never make full migration. Sad but true.

I let my feeders up often into October, just in case there may be a stragler migrating thru further north from me.

4 gallons...OMG I couldn't imagine filling all those feeders every day. Let alone the cost of sugar. Bless you :).

I go thru withdrawal when my Purple Martin colony leaves each year. The silence is deafening.

Something happy to look at.

They are serious feeders when they wake up.

Does it make you want to hold them in your hand?

This is a new group of birds flying in front of the rain. Wish you could have seen all of them.

We won't know if they stayed for awhile. They may keep staying in front of the rain.

Good morning beautiful day. The sun is shining, there is a nice gentle breeze and the birds are in abundance. My photos this week are averaging 60 t0 70 birds. September 10th I made 4 gallons of sugar/water, fed 4 1/4 gallons and cooked 25lbs of sugar in 4 days (there is maybe 2 gallons of it in the feeders now)
We can't see the back sides of some feeders and many of the birds in the air disappear into the greenery. What we see in the photo is about a 20' cube. I so much wish you could see the ones I can't get in the photos. You must see it to really relate to it. Many of us have seen bee hives disturbed and the bees are everywhere in large numbers. That is what it is like here when I am cleaning and/or filling the feeders. The chattering, chirping, buzzing, whirring, whoosh sounds are very, very loud. It is amazing. As long as you guys continue to enjoy these I will keep the post alive. Sing out from time to time, say hi. I really enjoy being able to share this. I do not want to have a monopoly. Please load your photos too.

OH WOW AMAZING!!!! Ilove to watch them. I have a feeder out but only have two regular ones that feed. But I put our regular bird feed and have lots of blue jays, cardinals, finches, and even the the little chipmunks and squirles feed.

This is so funny..I had found your avatar this morning while reading another post and had to enlarge it to see what it was. I THOUGHT it was hummingbird feeders. Wow! Love the pictures! I am in central GA and have had more the past week than I have had all Summer. Would you mind if I copied one of your pics and sent it to my sister in an email? She loves hummingbirds and I would love for her to see all of yours... She is in NC.
