The house, grounds and view are gorgeous... inside? beautiful but to formal for me :D:D:D

Julie in NM 04-21-2011 11:20 AM

I think some of the pics are interior dec drawings. Anyway, now I know how I don't want to live. Too big for me. {{{Sour grapes...maybe.}}}

AngieS 04-21-2011 11:22 AM

That's crazy, but I must admit-I'd take the kitchen....that's it! :) Oh, and the white shirts and all of her red shoes.....that's crazy! LOL

No problem fitting a longarm setup in that house :)

CarrieAnne 04-21-2011 11:55 AM

Id never be able to keep it clean!

Ceil 04-21-2011 12:07 PM

Too glitzy and cold for me. I do like "her" closet however! :)

mamaw 04-21-2011 04:46 PM

the flowers are lovely, but it definitely does not look warm and inviting. Guess I wouldn't want it lol.

Izaquilter 04-21-2011 05:40 PM

what happened did his maid & gardeners quit? Can't keep it clean? No it doesn't looked lived in for sure but I'm sure they pay to keep it that way. I could never have that much money....but I'd sure like to try!

luv2so 04-22-2011 03:15 AM

I'm speaking for me personally. I don't like it. I think it's gawdy. I like what everyday people like us have. Did anyone notice the silver one commode in the bathroom? The one thing I know I would have if I had that kind of money----someone to do grocery shopping for me. I hate to go grocery shopping!

Aussie Quilter 04-22-2011 03:25 AM

More money than taste!

wouldn't that make a lovely quilting retreat?!??!

christinetindell 04-22-2011 03:41 AM

YEs, it is over the top, but if he wanted to give it to me to help me get better (sniff, sniff) I'd take it. That would be for my therapy!!

quilter68 04-22-2011 03:55 AM

Even discounting 'Hollywood' excesses, it is a bit much overdone!

betsey 04-22-2011 03:56 AM

not my style-too cold

Scakes 04-22-2011 04:34 AM

It doesn't look very lived in, does it? Wouldn't one of those closets make a great sewing room? If I had a house that big, it would have to have a sewing room!

thegypsy1968 04-22-2011 04:36 AM

I'll take 2 .......lol 16 million omg pfft!!! pocket change he he he

QuilterChick 04-22-2011 05:08 AM

Love the exterior of it, but once you get inside ... it is "just a little" too "ornate" ! I'll take those stained glass windows tho.

Evidently the wife doesn't sew. :P :P

AlwaysQuilting 04-22-2011 05:18 AM

Doesn't look "homey" to me. Wouldn't want it.

damaquilts 04-22-2011 05:22 AM

I think it looks very cold also. I have had apartments that were smaller than their closets. I can't imagine having that much room. But it sure would make a nice place for me to fill with old dogs and give them a place to retire. LOL

drw1mjw2 04-22-2011 05:24 AM

Let's get rid of most of the furniture, invite friends over, push some tables together and QUILT! :)

Stitchnripper 04-22-2011 05:31 AM

Maybe Robin needs another project.

stitchinwitch 04-22-2011 05:39 AM

WOW!! That is beautiful - but too much house for me! You could fit my entire home into ONE of those rooms! With all the cut backs everywhere, maybe he is moving back to his trailer in Texas?? Is his show cancelled?

Weenween 04-22-2011 05:39 AM

I am sorry but I don't think it is very pretty just large.

quiltingaz 04-22-2011 05:44 AM

Even if I had the money I could not live like that. Way too formal for me. But at least I would have room for my quilting and even a longarm.

Jennifer22206 04-22-2011 05:58 AM

Just me personally - I don't like it. It doesn't feel like a "home" and it doesn't fit me or my DH's personality.

I don't like the gardens - my allergies would be killing me. Sure, the view is pretty enough, but I wouldn't want it.

dixiechunk 04-22-2011 06:01 AM

Sorry, not to my liking...looks like a whore house.
I much prefer rivergirl's log cabin.

mountain deb 04-22-2011 06:33 AM

To much cleaning and not enuf time sewing.

aggiebears 04-22-2011 06:34 AM

Does anyone really "live" there?

Maralyn 04-22-2011 06:38 AM

It's a nice house, but where do they really live? How could you even begin to relax in any room besides the movie theater?

luvstoquilt 04-22-2011 06:40 AM

Not my style at all!

DonnaB 04-22-2011 06:47 AM

Didn't see any hobby rooms, sewing room or any quilts in the house. Nor did I see where the maid lives!!!

decky 04-22-2011 06:48 AM

I think I like my house better. It's lived in, not sterile and cold like this one.

bamamama 04-22-2011 06:50 AM

I saw pictures of Alan Jackson's guest cabin on his property in Tennessee. It was the most beautiful log cabin I've ever seen and had quilts everywhere!

mhansen6 04-22-2011 06:52 AM

Have you ever wondered why people would sell a beautiful house like that? They take the time and money to remodel and decorate it beautifully, then they sell it. They are going to lose money on it, so it can't be an investment. This home is more beautiful than most celebrity homes. The grounds are spectacular.

Very good question....maybe his wife needed a room with more windows so she could take up quilting. LOLOLOLOL

Janetlmt 04-22-2011 07:06 AM

Can anyone spell T A C K Y...

stitchinwitch 04-22-2011 07:10 AM

I really could be comfortable with Alan Jackson's house. He sold it for 10M less than he listed it for. Can you even IMAGINE having that much $$$$$$$$$? But, you are right - the cabin on his property is more up my alley! It gives you a comfey cozy feeling from the get-go
