Take a look at Dr Phil's house. www.1008lexington.com Is it a bit ostentacious? Did I spell that right?

fidgety 04-21-2011 06:32 AM

I guess if you got it flaunt it!!

I could never keep a house like that clean! lol.

Oh but wait if I had that kind of money I wouldnt have to clean now would I!!!!!!!!!

lyndaloo 04-21-2011 06:36 AM

I wonder how many people it takes to keep that place clean. That's always the first thing I think of!

PABerard 04-21-2011 06:39 AM

Looks just like my house! ha ha ha ha!

Treasureit 04-21-2011 06:41 AM

Not a quilt anywhere!!

BMP 04-21-2011 06:42 AM

I love the outside and grounds, the inside is NOT my taste at all its almost gaudy !

texpat45 04-21-2011 06:51 AM

Heck, I'd just live in the closets! NICE!!!

raedar63 04-21-2011 06:51 AM

TOOOOOOOOOOOO much !and not just the money. Really ? How much does one need, just goes to show he is paid waaaay too much money!

How many white shirts does one need ,lol

cizzors 04-21-2011 06:53 AM

Looks out-dated to me.

babasil 04-21-2011 07:04 AM

So where is the sewing room!

mtnative 04-21-2011 07:04 AM

I am sure I could finally get a sewing area there! LOL! Not my taste. I agree - too gaudy. Not warm and inviting.

MamaBear61 04-21-2011 07:19 AM

I will take the wine rack, but someone else can have the rest (lol)

GirlieWhirlie 04-21-2011 07:23 AM

It looks cold and unloved.

Quilter7x 04-21-2011 07:25 AM

Wow, that is quite some house. My whole house is smaller than their two closets and bathroom.

BellaBoo 04-21-2011 07:29 AM

It's beautiful.

kwhite 04-21-2011 07:29 AM

How do you know that is Dr. Phil's House?

DogHouseMom 04-21-2011 07:42 AM

I'd love to have that walk in/walk around closet ... not for clothes but you know what! Most of the rooms were way too over the top for me, especially the mirrored wall behind the dinette in the kitchen ... YIKES!!! And exactly what does one do in a bathroom that large? Shuffle board?

It was on TMZ!?! lol

I would LOVE those gardens!

Maride 04-21-2011 07:49 AM

The warmth is all in the decor. I would throw some quilts here and there, some stuff out of place, a little dust, and like magic, an used but loved house! Is an amazing place.

cmw0829 04-21-2011 08:02 AM

It's beautiful and, after all, it's in Beverly Hills so a great style for that area.

He earned his money (even if some people feel it's too much) and can spend it as he chooses. I'm sure he pays a pretty penny in taxes.

S D G 04-21-2011 08:07 AM

I would probably get lost in that house, but on the up side you could have your own private fabric store in there.

dixiebelle162002 04-21-2011 08:07 AM

I would need medical health treatment if I had to live there. It doesn't seem like a "home" it is more like a trophy for display.

bluteddi 04-21-2011 08:21 AM

I thought that bathroom was a saecond kitchen at first!!!

I bet we could have some GOOD quilt parties there!!!

wanderingcreek 04-21-2011 08:22 AM

Way to gaudy and cluttered for my taste and even though I love flowers, the garden is too over the top for me. The pool is nice but those closets are to die for! Just think of all the fabric one could display in there!

AgapeStitches 04-21-2011 08:22 AM

Maybe several of us here can buy it from him....then we will have a real "quilting retreat".....if only I had the extra cash just lying around....

julia58 04-21-2011 08:23 AM

Reminds me of the television show The rich and famous. Wonder what ever happened to that show? Beautiful home they have. I guess it's typical Beverly Hills. Gotta keep up with the Jone's.

sewcrafty 04-21-2011 08:27 AM

I have a decent size walk-in closet, but those are to die for! OMG the possibilities! LOL

gunny148 04-21-2011 08:34 AM

OMG the masterbath is as big as the back half of my home...

gypsyatheart43 04-21-2011 08:37 AM

They don't know much about the real world, do they? How many starving children could you feed with that decorating budget?

gypsyatheart43 04-21-2011 08:39 AM

By the way, it is Dr. Phil's home, according to the tour we took. And it looks pretty modest on the outside, compared to the rest of the neighborhood.

jillaine 04-21-2011 08:42 AM

This is MY idea of a house-and-home:
http://www.facebook.com/media/set/fb...7&l=cc4e932893

Maybe because it IS my house and home. (Made public just for a short time.) I love the simplicity of our home... and its setting in the trees. Enjoy. And Dr. Phil: EAT YOUR HEART OUT! ;-)

Central Ohio Quilter 04-21-2011 08:58 AM

I would love that wine rack! Can you imagine fabric rolled up and placed in each of those wine cubbies! What a dream addition to my sewing room!

Ok, so maybe it would take everyone here on the qb to be able to afford it....

Kat Sews 04-21-2011 10:43 AM

Quite grandiose. I wonder if it is near the Clampet mansion (Beverly Hillbillies).

Charming 04-21-2011 10:48 AM

Oh come on ladies i sold him that house last year...he even bought my furniture from my yard sale...lol, but he took out my sewing room

Charlee 04-21-2011 10:56 AM

I put in an offer on it. We'll see if he accepts my $49,000.00 or if I have to look elsewhere! ;)

I would kill for the kitchen and bathroom...other than that, heh! Who needs it?

luv-e 04-21-2011 10:59 AM

Remember ,they are empty nestors now..:( :( They don't need all that room anymore...ahwwwwww...I feel for them......
Sarcasium at it best....hehehehe
We all go in together and use for a QB retreat!!!!!!!!!

Cindy2sew 04-21-2011 11:01 AM

I took advantange of the tax breaks and bought the place. Demolition to start ASAP! I am going to build something Beverly Hills has never seen! A huge but cozy quilt store and retreat!!! Goodwill to be arriving to remove the over the top furniture, to be replaced with cozy comfy settings. We can hang quilts from.the grand straircase.....
