Okay here goes. About a week or so ago I was going somewhere with Izabella and while driving down a hill I saw something hop out in to the road. I figured I was going to miss the frog and not run it over but low and behold I did not miss it :( This is the first animal I have ever hit and I was horrified. Well this morning when Izabella and I got in to the car to start off to daycare and then me to work I found something sitting on my car console....bad karma????
I have no idea how it got in the car either..hubby did not put it in there and neither did Izabella. Needless to say Izabella took the frog and made him a habitat at daycare..but it kind of spooked me out..have never had a frog in my car...
Eeery or not?
Hugs
April

I cleaned the hair off of him that was stuck too.

wow, was the big talk of the day at daycare

Cyn 08-19-2011 06:40 AM

Well I'd take it as a good sign :)

Joan 08-19-2011 06:41 AM

It's not eeery, stuff just happens. Apparently, it was that little frog's time who ran in front of your car. I believe the little frog in your car was just a coincidence.

(that said, it does make a great story!)

dakotamaid 08-19-2011 06:41 AM

Frogs are every where this year because of all the rain.

crafty pat 08-19-2011 06:41 AM

The ghost of frog's past.

awww, so cute, I love frogs!

debcavan 08-19-2011 07:06 AM

Eerie only because you cared. Better to run over a frog than swerv and go out of control and kill your child in a car accident.

amma 08-19-2011 07:14 AM

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmm :D:D:D

Maggiesmom 08-19-2011 07:26 AM

I think it was a frog who needed help and knew you would feel a responsibility toward him given your earlier experience. God works in mysterious ways.

janallyn 08-19-2011 07:40 AM

now i read this, so who knows, the frog held and important role in early myth the frog symbolized resurrection and a higher stage of spiritual awakening, other eurpopean folklore states that it is good luck to have a frog show up in your home and if heard outdoors it signified coming rain.

i just think it is cool, and a beautiful frog too, when i lived on the outer banks for north carolina, and you heard the frogs singing, the old timers would say "the frogs are singing for rain.

it reminds of nature, you and your daughter are safe, and froggy has a new home, "has he gone a courting", it is an old childrens rhyme i believe. and then think of "wind in the willows"? was there not a frog in that also, and we also remember prince charming (and where is he now in my life/hiding in the garden?lol)

i had a gecko ride on my windsheild on the toll road, 95 miles per hours for heavens knows how long before i could pull over and get him off, tossed him in the bushes, and i think he just did not like his neighborhood and was looking for new digs, he was lucky and so was i, i found him a new home, and most especially i did not wreck the car looking at him and being worried.

Cool!! I have never seen a hairy frog before, let alone a blonde one. :P

flowerjoy 08-19-2011 07:50 AM

that is a wee bit eery... so nice though that your daughter is going to care for the one you found and that you had a chance to "save"... I've heard it said that intention is the key to good karma... I would guess that you're doing well, teaching your daughter, giving her school friends a new acquaintance to care for, etc. ... interesting!

ptquilts 08-19-2011 07:52 AM

That frog you ran over? This is his cousin Guido. Be careful. Frogs never forget. ;)

MrsM 08-19-2011 09:01 AM

I would be a bit freaked out too. I guess you can think of it as a second chance.

emt2004 08-19-2011 10:46 AM

Oh wow, we hit a frog last night. I better check out my car to see if I have one hiding,lol......Michele

Naturalmama 08-19-2011 10:49 AM

I LOVE frogs - he's so adorable!

BellaBoo 08-19-2011 11:32 AM

When you opened your car door, the frog hopped in. I don't believe in coincidence Everything happens for a reason, may be a small reason but there is always a reason. Cause and effect is the root of all things that happen.

belmer 08-19-2011 11:54 AM

You say a "hairy frog? hmmmmmmmm, This might be prince charming waiting to be KISSED!

wanda lou 08-19-2011 11:53 PM

Wow!

niizh 08-20-2011 12:55 AM

Think I would have given him a great big kiss to see if it was Prince Charming. I like frogs.

Unless you are near Chicago... we have been having a fly problem...

And that is creepy about the frog! He probably hopped in when the car door was opened and no one noticed him.

too funny!

jad1044 08-20-2011 08:11 AM

Those little guys are fast - less than a blink of an eye and they are somewhere's else.... I know - I had one in my house - he was on the outside of the door when I opened it - middle of the window of the combination door - I closed the door when I went out - he was gone when I came back, till I got in the house - and there he sat - croaking at me!!! He was happy - the kittens played him half to death before I got him back out in his own habitat! It's not Karma, not wierd - just these little froggies fast ways!

pal 08-20-2011 08:32 AM

Just got an e-mail re: F.R.O.G. stating that a frog is a symbol of a guardian angel.

rosiewell 08-20-2011 11:27 AM

did you kiss it? it could have been a prince!

BarbaraSue 08-20-2011 12:10 PM

I think he's cute, and I'm glad the day care will provide for him and learn from him. maybe had been a pet that was outside and wanted to come in!:)

peaceandjoy 08-20-2011 03:20 PM

I live near Frog Hollow (I think the sign says, "Population: 16"). There are times when I don't want to slow down on the road - which you really have to because of the curve - for all the frogs hopping around. Blech.

writerwomen 08-20-2011 04:23 PM

Here's what happened. There were a bunch of frogs in the bushes and it was hazing week. The new frogs were supposed to jump in front of a moving car and if they survived they were in. This one however lept onto your grill and road it out. He knew if he went back the others would never let him live it down. Here's the part he never planned on. Being taken to daycare to be a pet.- You have to watch Toy Story 3 to know what his life in daycare is like.

Jan, Florida needs more people like you. Thanks! And so glad the frog in this story is in a good home now!

ButtermilkMama 08-20-2011 06:49 PM

This brings back memories!!! I had to pick up my DDIL from a city about 30 miles from our farm one day for my son. A gopher crossed the road and I deliberately ran it over. She was shocked. I then proceeded to tell her that they were not nice little animals because they ate the seeds of corn out of the planted fields, etc. She immediately told my son when we got home! She always reminds me of this. They will be married 30 yrs in Nov. I love her dearly!!!
