We pay more for our clothes, dry cleaning, hair cuts...and the list goes on. Yes, we are charged more because we are women and will usually pay if it's something we want. The marketers know this and will continue to lure us with the slick advertising. It's up to us to be better shoppers.

I actually agree with your husband. Some women buy stuff just because of the fad. They have to have every new thing that comes out. I for one have learned to watch and see if it is worth the money first.

I totally agree with GrammaO! If you buy something because you have really wanted it, and it brings you enjoyment, then it has value to you - whether that be a new lipstick, a bottle of nail polish, a really fun cut of fabric that you may or may not use right away, or the newest innovation. Or in men's cases, a box of ammo, a new bunch of feathers to tie flys for fishing, a chrome-y something for the Harley!
