Favorite Easter plant
My vote is for a pot of red tulips! It was traditional for my Dad to bring home an Easter plant for my mother. Usually it was hyacinths. After I married and started cooking Easter dinner for my parents, my Dad would bring a plant to me. The last year of his life, he stopped by my office a few days before Easter. I can still picture him, walking in, all smiles with a pale blue golf jacket on, carrying the most gorgeous pot of red tulips for me. After the tulips died down, I planted them in my garden. Have never had any luck with bulbs flowering again, here in the northeast. That July he passed. The next spring, nothing. The second spring, lo and behold, what came up but the red tulips and have so every year since. When they blossom I look at them and say "Hi Dad".

How lucky you are to be able to cherish those moments and have the tulips to keep his memory alive.

Wonderful red tulip story, such a nice memory to have.....
For Easter the white lily... |
I love tulips, also, and my favorite color is red! I don't, however, have any luck with growing them! LOL

Lilies shout Easter, but I love deep colored tulips. Tulips sing spring.

I love your story. Since my dad passed, it's been "Pennies from Heaven" always found on days when I'm sad. Dads have ways of still letting us know we're loved. Enjoy the tulips and the joy with memories that they bring.

I like tulips too, but am allergic to the lilies!! In church on Easter Sunday I was always miserable.
