Other than your sewing machines and accessories, what is your favorite thing that you would have a hard time living without? My is my Laptop. Hubby got this one for me for my birthday this year after many nights of waiting to use our home computer. It is so much easier now that we each can go online at the same time without waiting for the other one to finish. What is your favorite thing?

My car, most definitely. I don't care if I have to go anywhere, just make sure I have a vehicle for use. LOL Don't like that stuck feeling!
Boy, that is a hard one. I don't like being without a car either but I would miss my computer alot!!
I love where I live. I love my little house that is 60 miles for the nearest mall. 40 miles to the nearest WalMart, and 25 miles to the nearest grocery store. After growing up in San Francisco area this is so quiet and peacful! :)

chocolate ;)

I love my little home, My little Buster dog, husband, computer and this quilting board and the people here.
Definitely my car,I don't like to depend on other people and few are available in this working world.
Electricity-to power all the gagets we connect to.
Geezzz do we have to pick one???
I can't be w/o my laptop, car, or electricity!!! lol |
The quiet.....lol!...
When we moved here from a busy street corner in CA, 13+ yrs ago, we bought a house in the wooded countryside, & trust me, it's very quiet out here. Sure, we have a little noise, & neighbors, with some woods between us all, but nothing like living in town was! Took some time getting use to, but now, I love the quiet!.... |
My cellphone. I have internet capability on it so I can check on this board and other places during my state required duty-free lunch at school. We are not allowed to use our classroom computers for such frivolity. In fact, most sites are blocked to us, anyway. I have a whole whopping 30 minutes to eat lunch, visit the ladies room and relax. And, after a morning of 22 kdg kids tugging at my clothes and coughing in my face from 7:30-11:50...I think I deserve a few minutes of relaxation! Mind you...I am not complaining about my job...I just wonder about the admin/powers that be that are so worried that we will surf the 'net during class time. I don't have a spare moment!!!!!!

Not in the global sense, but personally, I cherish my freedom -- freedom to sleep when I want to, eat when I want to, go out, stay home, clean, or not!, sew, read, nap, play with the barn cats, wash the dishes when I'm ready, empty the dryer when I feel like it, to never "have" to make the bed, to just sit and watch the sunset even though dinner is waiting, to plan any project I feel like and carry it to completion without disrupting someone else's schedule.
I cherish my single status and the freedom it gives me to be complete in and of myself, and rarely lonely. :) Jan in VA |
My husband, and Chewie my pom. Everything else I own I consider perks.
GOD!!! Cause He is the one who sees to all my provisions. So much to be thankful for!

I'm raising my hand to nearly everything you all listed. God, family, vehicles, love, iPod, home and I have to add quiet time for me.
Everything listed...and my camera. If I can't get to sewing I grab my camera and go outside. There are so many things that we pass by each day and not even notice. I get some of the most amazing pictures just right outside my door. =)

I agree totally. I love the freedom to come and go when and where I wish, but I sure do love my computer. I even still have my first mid 80s one, another Macintosh of course. It still works!! It has ten thousand lovely colors of black, white and gray. Car and Computer, that lovely pair. |
Phone. Deployment without cell phone would be... can't even consider it. I know my gran had to wait for telegrams that would say, "Call 2pm 15th stop" or records recorded on ship (2 per war) but I am not Gran. I would become a champion cage fighter in order to keep my phone. So, don't take it away.

How about indoor plumbing?
Ditto to some things already said. I want my car here even if I am not going anywhere. And I agree with Jan in VA regarding freedom.

My car and my computer.
My laptop as without it I would not be able to keep in touch with my quilting friends.
My favorite thing is a Christmas Card that my grandson Jesse gave me when he was 7 years old which he purchased by himself in Walmart while I waited in the coffee area. Also one other item is the antique cross my late husband gave me on Christmas many years ago which I never took off. Thanks for asking.
God and my family, I hate a cell phone I own one just for traveling purposes never turn it on except when I'm going up the east coast
my new kitty Zoey, my husband and son, books, and chocolate, and flowers and good friends
Strictly talking about "things"--my laptop and car are a toss-up. I really need my car, so I guess that should be first, but purely for entertainment-the laptop!
