First Rag Doll
1 Attachment(s)
I just finished this doll for a friend's daughter who took the death of her grandmother very hard. The dress is made from a nightgown her grandmother wore all the time. I read about this type of thing helping some kids, so I thought it worth a shot - since I have no clue how to make a teddy bear.

Ruth, your kindness will help this child with her grief, well done!
|
She is very cute and will be a comfort for the little girl. I adored my granny and took her death hard even as an adult.
|
So sorry she lost her Grandmother, I hope the doll helps her through her grieveing. So good of you to make the doll for her.
|
What a wonderful thought! I know she will feel comforted, especially using her grandmother's nightgown fabric.
|
What a sweet thing to do! The doll will be cherished.

Two of my granddaughters lost their other grandparents within 5 months. I wish I had had the opportunity to ask for some of the clothing to either quilt with or make a doll like this. What a wonderful, generous thing for you to do. Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely doll and so clever and thoughtful to use the nightgown fabric. I am sure this will help the little one find her way through the grieving.
|
very thoughtful! I was in my late 30's when i lost my grandma, I just thought that would never happen. I was blessed to have her for so long. Something about grandmothers that seem so magical and nothing is ever going to happen to them.

You are as beautiful as your finished rag doll. Thanks for the inspiration.
