It's freezing here in Longwood fl. I can't believe it. I am going to knit tonight as my studio is a bit cold.

How are my Floridian sisters doing in this cold weather. How is it working out for yah! lol

I am getting in my nice warm bed with my Molly and hubby can join me if he wants to lol, but I am sure he is going to be watching his games and races in his room until later.

I am going to take a rest from the christmas diamond star quilt, It has made me tired lol.....knitting will be a nice change tonight...

I am cold too. My break from sewing is going to be paying the bills- Yuk- but it has to be done!

JUNEC 12-13-2010 04:09 PM

I HATE COLD WEATHER - that's why I moved to FL to be warm- I can't believe it is going to be below freezing tonight
I am in bed with my lap top & a cup of coffee, trying to stay warm.

Thinking about putting a fire on as well.

Have to take my grey's out later - not looking forward to it.

oops!

mrspete 12-13-2010 04:20 PM

I lived down there for thirty+ years and I miss it until now. Warmer weather I'll be singing it again! Best thing about weather in FL it does not usually stay one way long. But here in NC, it's been a freeze for two weeks or better. I'm sooo tired of it, brrrrrr.

Blessings
Ruth

It's 15 degree, 5 inches of snow on the ground and calling for more snow / freezing rain for Wednesday here in Kentucky....I'm ready for SUMMER!!!! cause I can't wish I was in Florida..... LOL

Luv Quilts and Cats 12-13-2010 04:25 PM

Sorry you folks in Florida are so cold. I can't believe how far down south the snow and cold has gone so early this year. I'm in Southern NH and we have had no snow yet. One morning last week, it was 8 degrees, when I got up though! I don't mind the cold, cuz I can always get warm. Don't like the snow too much if I have to get to work or somewhere else and drive through it. My avatar has found the warmest places in the house by now. She is such a comfy seeker! I hope your cold spell does not last too long!

DeneK 12-13-2010 04:26 PM

I am in SW Ga about 30 miles N of Tallahassee and it is 35 here. Brrrr! Got a cup of hot tea and sitting in front of a little heater (in addition to regular house heat).

stewyscrewy 12-13-2010 04:27 PM

My son and his harem are freezing in Miami. My 2 DGDs are actually using the afghans I made for them. My DIL doesn't have any blankets. At least she didn't have any when I was there 2 yrs ago and it got down to 32* at night! I've learned to pack light and heavy pj's

pjustice63 12-13-2010 04:37 PM

Had to wear my "long johns" to walk the dog this morning in Mt. Dora. The wind was frigid and it never stopped all day long.
Heading to Ky. on Wed. Will probably hibernate while I'm there.

What is a DGDs???
Still freezing in Central FL - Although I am cold- My hearts goes out to the farmers - if it goes below freezing- it could destroy all their crops

grammiepamie 12-13-2010 05:53 PM

It's 37 right now in Orange Park. It was 27 when I got up this morning. Suppose to go to 18 tonite. Ladies it is cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I,ve been in Florida since 1969. BRenea 12-13-2010 06:00 PM

Hubby was in Tampa just last week on business, he was in PA the previous week and was looking forward to some warmer weather...but no such luck!

morelcabin 12-13-2010 06:11 PM

Jingle 12-13-2010 06:29 PM

Its cold here and has been the last 2 nights, daytime up to 25-34 and Thrusday a chance of ice.

Chele 12-13-2010 08:26 PM

Official snow day in Florida tomorrow. Time to dust off the real shoes and find a pair of socks that haven't dry rotted. Flip flops aren't going to cut it. Well, at least until Friday when it's back to 75!

KarenSimon 12-13-2010 08:29 PM

We broke a record today in Tucson Arizona. Previous high was 79 degrees. Today was 84. But we are promised more seasonal weather in a few days. At least that is what the weatherman says.

Jim 12-13-2010 08:36 PM

I love Florida and would love to live there but I will stay in Kentucky all my days ..my grandkids and children are here, would love to have some of the usually warm Florida weather here in KY...you won't be cold long but here in Kentucky its way to early to be this cold and Spring is a longggggg way off

luvstitches 12-14-2010 05:24 AM

Last night the windchill was 10 below in NE Ohio.
I feel your cold. lol
Stay warm inside.
Nancy

sewnsewer2 12-14-2010 05:30 AM

Brrrr, baby it's cold outside! 47 here this am.

alica1367 12-14-2010 05:58 AM

Got up this A.M. and it was 23 out. We moved here to get away from the cold. We usually don't get this until mid Jan. and only for a few weeks. I wonder if this means spring will be here early? Yeah, right!! I'm in the NW panhandle. Burrrr, my arthritis is really aching today.

Connie in CO 12-14-2010 06:00 AM

Oh my word,we were going to Florida the first of the year :?:  well,if i get to cold i will go shopping .

Abby'smom 12-14-2010 06:28 AM

SE TX is supposed to 76 as hi on Wed./Thurs. -- no freezes for the rest of the week -- I know that come summer I will be complaining about the hot weather

alica1367 12-14-2010 06:39 AM

Sounds like we should have moved to TX instead. Oh well.

mommafank 12-14-2010 06:53 AM

But the cold will not last for long in FL. Lived ther for 25 years and moved to GA for retirement a year ago. First winter we were in FL was about the coldest on record........thought we had made a big mistake but it warmed up quick.

JS 12-14-2010 06:59 AM

I live in North Port and have been in Florida almost two years. I am still a northerner. I love this cold weather! I now know it is December. Last year I could not tell one season from another. Sorry all my fellow Floridians I know it is a little too much for you but, can't help enjoying this.

gramipam 12-14-2010 07:13 AM

I am in what's considered the Tropics! It's freezing here. Tomorrow I return to Connecticut. Not a lot colder there than Fort Myers Florida!!

Northerners always love the colder weather in FL. Enjoy it because it does not last long and when it gets hot.................it stays hot a long time.

Surfergirl 12-14-2010 11:41 AM

It's really cold now, but it will be in the 70's in a couple of days. Cold doesn't last long here...thank goodness!

Rosyhf 12-14-2010 03:12 PM

Well I stayed warm today. I never got out of bed or pj's hahahahah....I have the heat on but I don't like it too hot. I was hot in bed. I knitted on a cable sweater that I am doing for a friend and got the neck area done finally. Starting on the two sleeves now and then it's off to Arizona.

Marge L. 12-14-2010 03:34 PM

It's been on the cold side for more than a week here. It has been in single digits for the highs a few days and below zero at night. Winds up to 40 mph steady, not gusts. Today up to 12 but no wind. It was beautiful out. In Iowa you learn to live with it if you're not a chicken. LOL I don't mind it much at all. For real.

Olivia's Grammy 12-14-2010 04:32 PM

It's freezing in GA too. It was 17 this morning. Coldest day in 90 years. But it will be up and down again soon I hope.

Joan Gaddis 12-14-2010 04:46 PM

i am in n.ga. about 60 miles north of atlanta and it was 23 at 5:30p.m. and it's supposed to be like 18 in the morning. i know lot of you have colder temps. than that --------but we aren't used to it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! poor poor cold me. it will get better , right?

alica1367 12-14-2010 05:01 PM

They say by the end of the week. But for how long, they're not committing.

mommafank 12-14-2010 06:10 PM

From Between, GA...........never got above freezing here today. I thought when it was so miserable hot this summer that cooler temps would be welcome..............but not feeling that way at these low temps. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR---get me another quilt.

canuckninepatch 12-14-2010 08:01 PM

we're new snowbirds, and a little near freezing weather doesn't scare us in the least. At home (Ontario) people are being stranded on highways, and roads are being closed. How can I complain here in Fort Myers?

patchsamkim 12-14-2010 08:08 PM

Supposed to get to -2 degrees tonight...bbbbrrrrrrr...this is very cold for December...even in Wisconsin...sorry it is so cold in Florida too.

MrsMoe4487 12-14-2010 09:03 PM

At least in Minnesota we're ready for all types of weather because thats what we get! I know if I travel to pack t-shirts and sweatshirts all through out the year haha!
Hope you all are staying warm down south!
-7 this morning 2 above for the high! :) I actually am getting used to the cold!
Good day to get some quilting done :)
