I know my staples of things that I have to have in the food department... I am taking the highest "points" allotted per semester for the food... and I know what I'll be keeping on hand in my room... Rice, Ramen, Mac & Cheese, and Chef Boy Arde OH! and not to mention Spaghetti O's and If I want a home cooked meal, I can either go home, or wait till I get paid... I'm close enough that I could commute... but I A. don't have a car and B. don't have a license... plus it costs a bit to take the train and bus... so I'm better off living on campus... not to mention it's too crowded at home... I'm going to get my notebooks, pens, pencils and what not from Sams Club or from Cosco (depending on which parent takes me... Mom has a sams card and dad has a cosco card) And I'm building up things over the summer so that I have stuff...

Don't have time to read all the suggestions, but check at local motels for night clerk positions. Have you thought about trying a school other than private?

I applied to 4 schools... 3 private, one public. Elmhurst was A. most expensive and B. Hardest to get into... Monmouth was a little cheaper and a little easier to get into. Concordia was the cheapest private school and the easiest to get into... Illinois State was the easiest of all the schools including public colleges to get into and was about the same as Concordia rounding out at about 20,000 once you included room and board.

I was accepted to 1 school out of the four... and that was Elmhurst... how, I don't know... But I'm extremely happy that I was. I think that only haveing to come up with 10,000 as opposed to say 15,000 or more is great. Even based to the other financial aid packages of the other schools, Elmhurst also has the best.

I'm looking into how I can get the Perkins Loan, which I'm sure I qualify for. Plus we are looking into getting the parent plus loan as well. IF I get the perkins, and at least 4000 in plus funds... I'll only need to pay 2000 dollars... which I could either pay 20% of August 15 or pay in full... I'll take the latter to the former.
