Hello and welcome from another West Tennessean.

Barb44 09-12-2011 08:19 PM

I think there are quite a few of us here who have dial up. I do and I post as much as I want. I have more problems loading pictures and it is frustrating not to be able to watch videos.

Hi from Ohio!

Welcome from an Oregonian, transplanted to Delaware. I made it "from sea to shining sea." I still miss Oregon on a daily basis, but take consolation in the fact that we can swim in the ocean here and not FREEZE, which is totally awesome to me.

FERSID 09-13-2011 05:21 AM

My heartfelt condolences - I was on d-i-a-l-u-p too when we moved to our home 12 years ago.

Thankfully within the year, high speed cable became available.

Will there ever be a chance of getting high speed or, are you in a location that will never be able to provide high speed service?

grandme26 09-13-2011 05:49 AM

I remember those days to clearly. Have you tried getting a cell phone type connection. I had one until
DSL came to my house, it was all around me but not here. My son now has the up to date one and it works great. Mine was from
ATT and so is his up to date modle.
And it is cordless and works on all their computers.

Hi and welcome to the board from Victoria,Australia.

misscarol 09-13-2011 08:48 AM

Don't you think with all the people using broad band that the dial up would be faster?

ptquilts 09-13-2011 09:01 AM

Welcome, when I had dial up I wouldn't even TRY to watch a video.

grandjan 09-13-2011 10:23 AM

Wow do I understand this problem. We live way out in the country and can only get a hsp by satellite. Have been experimenting with a connection that works through Verizon's transmitters but it's very iffy. We lived with dial up for a long, long, long time before there were any alternatives at all.

Sandra in Minnesota 09-13-2011 12:22 PM

I had dial up for a few years, but just love high speed now.

cr12cats 09-13-2011 12:34 PM

I only have dial up too so that limits the pictures I can look at and sure can't watch videos. But still love spending time on this board.

ube quilting 09-13-2011 01:00 PM

Welcome to the board from PA and I understand totally about dial up. I just got this high speed and it allowed me to find this great place! Enjoy it all, however you can.
peace
