We just bought new washer and dryer. DH insisted on gas which they don't carry in the store....so we waited a few extra days to get it shipped in. Electric cost more to operate. Seller said more people prefer electric. And we did pay a bit more for the gas unit.

I love heating and cooking with gas. That being said, I always use an electric dryer. I buy on a size bigger than my washer so that it does dry faster. When I bought my new one a few years ago it was the first time that my clothes gets dry before the washer is done.

Love my electric. Wouldn't give it up for anything.

I’ve only used electric, but I remember my MIL (who only used gas) saying that my clothes smelled fresher than hers and that her gas dryer turned her whites slightly yellow over time. My DH won’t have a gas dryer—says he spent too much time as a teen repairing or replacing parts on his mom's gas dryer. Our first electric dryer, an inexpensive Kenmore, lasted for the life of three washers, but I washed cloth diapers and often used the solar dryer (clothes lines).

Got a large capacity top loader with agitator. It is a HE but has a feature that lets me fill to the top. Two years in and so far pleased with it

I've always had gas dryers so really have no experience of electric dryers. Gas is so much cheaper here.

A clothesline dropped my on my back one time. I forgot to duck when I was biking to school. Owwww.
