Where are you planning to attend? I know you're in my area :) I'm a prof at SUNY O.

April,
I am so happy for you! I went to school at 40 and got my B.A. in 22 months, then went to graduate school and got my 90 gh M.Div. I was 45 when I graduated.

It was so freeing! I thought it would be so tough, but it just took perseverance. I finished both degrees with a 3.8 and worked full time and drove 120 miles each day each way.

April-
If you're going the SUNY route, definitely check out Empire State College (perfect for getting a ton of credit for life experience courses as mentioned upthread).

One of my favorite movie lines EVER:

Although I always felt they should used trig instead of algebra.

Best of luck! Probably too late for you to read this tonight, so hope you did well.

Congrats, I'm sure you'll do great. I too, finally got to go to college at 40, graduated at 43 and went on for my masters. My hubby was military and we moved so much I had to wait till he retired to go, but, I'm glad I did. It was one more thing on my list of goals I have completed.

One of my kids said she learned faster when she read the questions and answers and taped them as she did it. Then she could listen to her own voice as she took care of her house and little kids. Your own voice on a record will attract your minds' attention better than any strangers'.

Worth a try, and you could listen to it while driving...if it does NOT distract you. Me, I never, ever have the radio on while driving because it does distract me. And of course I never use a cell while driving either, and as for you, please do not, ever. We want you to continue on this board for a long while yet.

Way to go April, at least your program is sponsoring some of your tuition.

When I finish, it will be around $67,000.00 tax free.

I've been in school since Summer '07.
Hopefully by 2012 I will have my BS.

I just finished up Intermediate Algebra ( a few weeks back) and it was not so bad.

Good Luck!
