I have lost 12 lbs since Thanksgiving and I am thankful for that. I have cut my portions ( I was eating to much). Watch what I eat, unlike hubby. At work I eat 3/4 to 1 cup of trail mix (my version) for supper, I work 3-11. Right now I seem to have hit a plateau, though and staying study. I am getting up off my butt more and that helps. I told the girls when I get under 200lbs, I am going to do the happy dance all the way down the hall.

I have done ALL different diets through the years (I know what they say....diets don't work) and sometimes I lose and sometimes I don't. (I'm over 60 so that doesn't help, my metabolism died long ago). Anyway I stopped by to see a friend on the way home from the doctor and she said her SIL started eating ONLY unprocessed foods and easily lost weight and felt better too. So I'm going to try it. I have to grocery shop this afternoon anyway. Has anyone else tried this? |

It's harder sometimes when we go out to eat, but you can do it. Keeping a food journal is a key element in success. Plus lots of water. Good luck. You can do it, just keep on trying.

I've never eaten many processed foods.
Didn't grow up on them. |
I eat as much fresh fruits, veggies as I can afford and in the summer we have garden. We dont eat out hardly at all cus of the cost, and now, when we do, like get a burger or other fast foods I nearly always get sick from 15 mins to an hr later! I dont use processed (boxed, pre made etc) foods cus I actually like to cook. Have been trying to cut way back on meats. When I was a kid (in the 50s) it was meat and potatoes at least 1 meal a day every day! and I mean potato every day - I just thought that was how u were supposed to eat. Im over weight not from the type of food I eat but because I eat way too much breads (home baked) w/ butter, lol, share t

My husband has been diagnosed as borderline diabetic - he is on diet control now, no meds. We did away with white bread - only whole grain. No white rice - only brown rice. Very little processed food. It has meant not as much convenience food and less take out - but he has responded well. His sugar counts are very good and we have both lost weight. Of course he has lost more by doing the exact same things I do - doesn't seem fair. It do most of the cooking and made the adjustments, and he benefited the most. Oh well - my mother always used to say "Nobody promised you fair."
