It is a great idea to teach young men to sew. He did a good job.

wendiq 04-30-2012 07:36 AM

Good for you for helping him explore this activity. Too many would slough it off as "not a boy thing". I always say that most of our top designers are men......:) He certainly is proud of his accomplishment!

sewready 04-30-2012 01:35 PM

I think it is great that you are teaching him to sew. My dad learned to sew very early in his life. (He was born in 1918, but my grandmother was a forward thinking lady).. She had five sons and three daughters and everybody learned to sew, cook, clean, etc. Her motto was, "The best place to find a helping hand was at the end of your own arm!)

Iraxy 04-30-2012 02:41 PM

He looks so happy. I know you are proud to have brought such a delighted smile to his face.

The grin says it all!!! Great Job!

Cindy60545 05-01-2012 03:59 AM

Thanks all for the praises. He's watched this thread & I've read him all the comments. When he got home from school yesterday, he rushed through his homework without any complaints, did his chores & asked "now can I play in the studio?" I didn't realize how much this pillowcase had taught him til he sat down at the sewing machine & did perfect 1/4" seams & pinned some pieces together! I think I've just created a new quilter in the family!

carolynjo 05-01-2012 06:12 AM

Great job and happy kid!

Rose Burnett 05-01-2012 09:56 AM

Kitsie 05-01-2012 10:49 AM
